Hey guys!

I'm currently in year 12, and doing my major IRP assignment for Community and Family Studies. My assignment is titled "Polish Cullture in Australia" and I decided to do this topic because of my Polish heritage. I plan to relate back all my information to the individual's well being.

I was hoping to gather some information about personal experiences about your migration to Australia [if possible], and about famous Poles in Australia [ie. Michael Klim, Dr. Karl Kruszelnicki etc] and the impact they have had on Australia.

For the people who have migrated to Australia from Poland, could you please answer the following questions:
1) Name. [please identify if you would or would not like your name to be mentioned in the assignment].
2) Place of birth.
3) Current location.
4) What was the reason for your move from Poland to Australia?
5) When did you migrate/at what age.
6) What were the positives of your migration to Australia?
7) What were the negatives of your migration to Australia?
8) On a scale of 1-10, do you think your move has had a positive or negative impact on yourself. [10 being highest and positive, 1 being lowest and negative].

The next survey can be answered by anyone.
1) Name [please state whether or not you want your name to be mentioned in the assignment].
2) Firstly, are you able to name any famous people in Australia, who are of Polish descent, or origin? If yes, please identify.
3) If you answered the above question, what impact do you think the specific individual(s) have had on Australia?
4) Do you think you as an individual have made an impact in Australia? If yes, how.
5) How do you view and portray the famous Poles in Australia?
6) How do you believe famous Poles in Australia [ie. Michael Klim, Dr. Karl Kruszelnicki, and Sir Pawel Edmund Strzelecki etc.] have made a difference in Australia?
7) On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate Poland's influence in Australia? [1 being the lowest, and 10 being the highest].

I really appreciate your help with my assignment!

Thank-you so much.

Kayla.

It would be advisible as a research paper that you do age group bracket rather than actual age and current location .. as with all research material confidentiality is key and personal detail like Name and DOB is not given .. your subject lecturer should have advised you of this.

Michael Klim

I know he is a famous swimmer, possibly world-record holder. If he was starting as "Michal Klim" (not Michael Klim), he would be more recognizable by the Polish fans.

Hey guys!

I'm currently in year 12, and doing my major IRP assignment for Community and Family Studies.

I'd be happy to help, but the info would be from my dad as I was born in Oz. When do you need this by?

I suggest you go to your local Polish club. I'm sure some of the oldies would be happy to chat to you.

I realise there is alot of questions, but it's to provide me with answers for several questions, and this is my major.

I don't necessarily mean full name, first name, or initials would be fine. Birthplace is just to clarify whether or not the individual was born in Poland, and the current location is just to certify whether or not the individual is now in Australia, seeing as I am focusing on the culture in Australia.

Thanks Ozi Dan, there isn't that much of a rush, it's due in June though. Yeah I'm going to be heading to the Polish Clubs around Western Sydney, I'm also going to the one over in Perth!

Sorry for the confusion (if any) of my post and/or questions.

Not all questions are compulsary, I am willing to accept any information which you can give.

Thanks for the info.

If anyone does decide to answer the questions, just provide me with an age bracket instead of a DOB, and just the state you live in (if you are willing to provide this, once again, not all questions are compulsary), and the place of birth can just be the part of Poland in which you were born.

Good to see you are looking into Polish influence on Australian culture as I am just starting a Ph.D on this subject. I am, however, limiting my research to WA. My readings so far show quite a lot of literature about the Poles in the eastern states which is why I'm concentrating on WA.

I have found the archival material in the State Library of the local Polish newspaper - Kurier Zachodni - to be most useful in articles about Poles all over Australia and pieces written by Poles about their experiences. Perhaps you have already done this in your area?

Anyway, good luck with your major.

Eileen
