KOCHANI,
PROSZĘ PORAD¬CIE JE¦LI MOŻECIE

457
does anybody holds that visa ? "457"?
if yes, i wanted to ask how did you find employer willing to sponsor you and who waited for you as for a worker 2-3 months before you atarted to work. processing the visa takes 8-12 weeks so how did you arrange things ?

myself, i had been working 9 years in cruise industry, and now i want to settle down and move to "aussieland" to NSW preferably. i wanted to go to see migration agent but i dont think it is nessesary if in the immigration dept i ve been told that they charge lots just to complete the documents - i can take of it myself.

if anybody has any information about my case i will appreciate your reply

thx
alex

don't know anything about 457 but try searching the or what you chances of permanent residency in Australia is like but I've always heard it can be quite diffcult unless you have particular skills the government is seeking. I know also there is a Skills list published on the Department of Immigration website under the headings I have given below.

do this search Department of Immigration and Citizenship immi gov au - government website Under heading Visas, Immigration and Refugees. The forum won't let me put the full website but I have it above withouth the dots.

On the left hand side is list headed OVERVIEW - click on WORKERS to see the dropdown list and select your specific topic for information on visas for workers.

if you choose Professional and Other Skilled migrants there is a section titled Improving Your Chances of a Job offer in Australia. from that page is - "Have your qualifications and employment history listed on our Skill Matching Database. The database is accessed by employers and State and Territory governments who may then nominate you for migration. A key advantage is that you may find a job before arriving in Australia."

Hope this is of some help.

Good Luck

(this gives you an idea)

Check on the web site you have the right skills and points required and then:

Visas for Australia can take up to 3 months or more to be honest...Im just talking from a inter-company transfer to an overseas office perspective and work colleges who have gone there on their on their own initiative...At the end of the day it depends on the processing time, my advice is get a good immigration solicitor who know their stuff and doesnt just want to take every penny you have and let them deal with it...Speak to the Austrailian Embassy in your own country and ask who they would recommend...They'll probably be able to point you in the right direction...
