too right! they used to organise Polish discos in Bournemouth but it's been cancelled cos every single event ended in a fight and police being called in etc. it's really unfair on everyone else who just wants to have a good night but dresiarze i buraki always find their way to such parties. i suppose it does give a Polish feel to it because those steroid filled meatheads play an undeniable part in Polish 'culture'. they go to a party, get wasted and aggressive, get in a fight for no obvious reason just to get their kicks and then they boast about f*cking someone up. no point asking why, they won't remember or care cos there doesn't have to be a reason, it's just a normal ending of their every night out in town.

Polska Balanga should go to Polish Club Ashfield.

Polish Club Ashfield used to have the best parties every Friday and Saturday night since 1990 to 2000

I went to Polska Balanga at the Shellbourne Hotel. It wasn't any good. The turn out was dismal.

Bring back the disco in Polish Club Ashfield.

The Polish Club Ashfield has all the Polish Beers available. It has an awesome large dance floor.

Bring back the good old days 80 music like Modern Talking, Eurythmics, Bangles, Cindy Lauper fixed amongst Polish music and trance and techno.

The DJ back in the 90's at Polish Club Ashfield knew how to mix the music very very well.

Polish Club Ashfield needs revival and I hope the disco return.

dresiarze i buraki

I assume buraki is rednecks/hillbillies (right?) but what are dresiarze? Crossdressers?? Hard to imagine them joining a redneck hangout. Confused...

Strzyga - I think I get the meaning of dresiarze now but what's the gist of the cartoon? I must say I'm struggling here, do you have a Polish-Cartoon-For-Dummies version? :)

This is what I get in Polish but I don't think that's it?

Tfu (spit) moje zęby... No ??? kurwa mać (i get that)...
Zapielone facety palały
Pierdoły (or pierdołone?)

"Fiełdołone" - I guess it means screwed?

This sucks, I wouldn't survive a stint to a Polish bar... :(

Sky, don't try to read too much into the cartoon, this is just more or less what you can hear when you get near these darlings.

skysoulmate:
No ??? kurwa mać

no żeż - żeż coming from ożeż, it's a quasi-word used to add emphasis (ożeż ty!)

and on: zapierdolę was wy pedały pierdolone
apologies to anybody speaking Polish

most of them can't even afford going into a bar, they seem to prefer open spaces - the good side of that is that you can spot (and hear) them from a distance :)

Good point there. Sometimes I get frustrated when I think I'm doing all right and then all of a sudden all I can see is: "fhf hdtcji jyytesg bg gfigs" Oh well, thanks for the dummy translation - I needed it lol

lol :) you'd need no more than 5-10 words to communicate at the dresiarz level, they certainly don't use wider vocabulary than that, but I'm sure you'd do fine with others too :)

now, black hiphop lyrics, talk about frustration! :)

Tru dat!

You just have to read up on ebonics (the official term for the African-American dialect)

I've posted this video before but here's a quick lesson just for you. :)

By the way...

Don't forget that at the Polish Club everyone has to be out by 12am. It’s only good for under 18's or over 80's LOL.

Went to Polish Club Ashfield Disco last night. Very small turn out only 8 people. It ends at midnight because of liquor licence restriction.

Apart from that the music is great.

DJ plays the music you request.

My favourite music is:

- Modern Talking
- Sabrina
- Sandra
- Thomas Anders
- Madonna
- Cindy Lauper
- Eurthymics
- Europe
- Icehouse
- Gazebo
- ABBA
- Queen
- Men At Work

And these get played at Polish Club Disco

Beer is $6.50 for 500ml bottle of the following beer:
- Zamkowe
- Zamkowe Mocne
- Warka Strong
- Okocim Mocne
- Okocim
- Zywiec and there are a few other Polish beers on top of this list.

Coca Cola is only $1.80

Best of all free entry.

I hope more people start attending the Polish Club Disco.

The disco are on each Saturday until end of year and will be reviewed wether they will continue into 2011

Why is it $20 now? I lived in Poland for 3 years and miss it dearly... I hoped that I could experience a little bit of what I miss while in Sydney - but there is no way I am prepared to pay an increased price for something that everyone on here is giving bad opinions about! How disappointing!

As you can see at this event we're going to have Mezo (Polish Raper) performing live and we have to pay him for that so $20 is cheap for an event like that I can't believe that people are complaining about that obviously they don't know the cost to organize an event like that at venue like Shelbourne Hotel with live performance by someone like Mezo, of course the following events will be back to $10 entry.
