dear sir, madame

Am Algerian married with Polish citizen, I got positive decision for living in poland.
Before I get my resident card I had to come back to Algeria for an urgency, then before I go, I asked foreigner office about coming back, they told me that I have right to get Visa without any problem.
I went after to Polish embassy in algeria to get my visa, they was talking to me in bad way that i shouldn't stay for long and to be honest to get special visa in first time before I leave. I told them that now I have all rights to live in poland then i don't see the reason to refuse me Visa, the assistant adviced me to have an appointment with the Consul, I was calling the next day but the phone wasn't working then I sent a fax asking for an appointment. I was calling many times but the assistant was telling me that the consul didn't pick the date yet ( strange ). I went to them asking for explanations then the Consul came out to me asking why i came today, I was explaining that's not normal to wait many days to have an appointment.
He took my decision, marriage contract and my passport, then he start saying the samething I heard from assistant the first day, i explain again that now am legal in poland and I need a Visa to come back to my Wife. He told me to call me in 3 or 4 days, but i was waiting for more than 3 weeks.
after many calls, the Consul told me to come and bring my documents and wait for 10 or 15 days to have Visa.

Every time I go the the embassy I have to wait ouside for hours under 40° even there is an air conditioned waiting room, the assistant is talking in bad way...

Waiting for that long, spending time going to the embassy, everytime I ask for explanations I hear the same thing that I didn't respect the limit date of Visa, I wasn't honest that am going to get married, the worse that she told me that I found a woman very quick and got married......

I see that racist, where is the humanity?
what can you say about that story?

miranda Edited by: miranda  Jul 19, 08, 13:11    #2
I don't think it has anything to do with racism, but with the fact that since Poland joined the EU, the number of people trying to get the Polish passport has increased.

I am not surprised that they are being suspicious. It is their job.

Honey, if you married for love, nothing will wear you down. Nor the heat, nor the long waiting;)

You want to get to Poland you need to wait. Not fair, but who said life is fair.

miranda,
1st of course am married with a very big love, and i didn't even want to move to poland, i did it for her, for our love !
2nd she was calling in every office in poland they was saying that i should get my visa rightaway, they just need to confirm about my documents.
3rd go to any embassy and see if there's waiting room and u wait outside, and talk to you in bad way, no where of course, but why in algeria? because we'r muslim? arab?? all muslims and arabs are terrorist?

This doesn't sound like racism to me. I have the same probems there sometimes. Obtaining visas/residency is a hassle anywhere. They know they have the power and they will make you wait until they're ready.

Could be that this was just regular procedure, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was some mild racism involved.

I don't know if this is true, but I think there are a good deal of Poles who have issues with Africans going to Poland. I got stopped by some bus controllers the other day, and they were quite young, and they asked me what my nationality was, I said I'm American, and the guy said "American? You are African!" I'm not sure what his point was but It didn't come off as friendly. Eventually they let me off the hook though...

I was once at a party and I started chatting with some of my girlfriend's friends. This guy Simon was really nice and friendly to me, we had a whole conversation, and then he said that we should hang out sometime, he said "you're cool because you're American, here we mostly see black guys from Africa,, and they are ********, we don't like them." I think he meant that as a compliment to me but I still felt uncomfortable.

The real problem is MANY people judge by colour of skin or nationality not by what sb have in mind or skills you have possesed. Thats the main problem everywhere. Secanix79 you have to acknowledge that, but I got your fair point, thats a bit nasty what they have done to you

I forgotto tell everybody that when an embassy gives you a Visa, you have to respect limit date, if not then you wont get no Visa again, and my situation they couldn't refuse me Visa.

about taking long time it wasn't work, but they just let me wait for nothing, because my wife was calling every office in poland, and they said that it's not normal because they already got the confirmation that am legal !

PS: about Black african, am white, green eyes i don't look african so I didn't have any pb in Poland.
and in every office they was very kind to me !

first-you fcuked up because you left the country without getting your passport
2-don't expect to bet treated better than the others.it looks like a normal procedure to me.try to ring and meet an american consul in warsaw.there is no way you can do it to "discuss private things"
3your country is on a list of terroris countries and there is high possibility that you might be connected to terrorists or be a terrorist yourself.our embassy have to do 1st security checks and they seem to be doing well
4don't complain about the weather.it is the country you were born.no air conditioning?oh well.there is no AC in sahara too.

ask for explanations I hear the same thing that I didn't respect the limit date of Visa, I wasn't honest that am going to get married, the worse that she told me that I found a woman very quick and got married......
it sound like a typical eu passport hunt.you should be refused visa for the above reasons.i hope you will.you guys from this ****** african countries just can't stop doing that.pathetic.all you do when you fail is playing a race card.really pathetic.i pity all these stupid women who marry a stranger from culturally so diffrent country a few months after meeting him and expect love to last forever.

Rafik, I see you have some pb with other culturs or races, what's ur pb? check the history what was the relationship between Algeria and poland, when u was doing the line to buy bred or some food, Algeria was helping your country, u should pray for EU, if not u'll be the same, who's making ur country better? polish or ( strangers) as u called them? what about the biggest companies? they'r Polish????
I see ur racist, who told you that i met my wife just few months ago? she shoosed me as husband cuz am always clean, i never drink, i don't care about other religions or races ....

PS : I have a very good life in here, A big shop, nice care, moto bike, big house....
Rafik, if ur little smart, how can polish people are running away from poland to england and other countries, and an Algerian who got a good life is looking for living in poland?
maybe u don't have any Idea about Algeria ( it's not like u see Africa at Animal Planet's chanel )

Unfortunatelly some or maybe majority of people see your country like that, which is a pity.

The point is that one needs to have all the appropriate documents in order to deal with any consulate. We all went through it one way or the other and there are no exceptions.

At this point it is hard to prove that there was racism on their part when you ask me. Even if there was. It is one of the hardest things to prove. If you had all the documents and paid attention to the dates, maybe this would not have happened.

The stereotypes about each nationalities really don't help here, do they?

I think people on PF should stop doing this. It is not taking us to nice places. Does it.

I am not naive or careless but there is so much paranoia about each other that this is only continue to grow.

So good job everybody;)

I have all docs, but there's some takes time to get it, can u imagine they ask even for bank history + my shop's insurance, i asked for a visa not for credit.......lol
check it out : http://www.algier.polemb.net/index.php?document=50 ( it's in french, see what kind of doc)

miranda Edited by: miranda  Jul 20, 08, 07:42    #16
what visa are you applying for then. I agree there are a lot of documents required.
secanix79:
Algeria was helping your country

I would like to know more about that. I bet not many Poles know that.

PS. it is easy to forget about the difficulties Poland once had and get on a high horse at times.
As for the bank statement I guess it has to do with the fact that they want to to support yourself while in Poland although that beats me because there are no legal assistance in Poland for foreigners/refugees, although I might be wrong.

It's a National visit, because my resident card is ready in poland, next time, i don't need visa anymore, because i will travel with that card.

to show that u have enough money is for visitors not for residents , and u can't show how much do u have in bank !

I see you have some pb with other culturs

people coming from certain countries are more likely to cause problems than others.unfortunately algeria isn't the country considered as "safe and peaceful".your own country earned you this opinion not me. in this case every citizen should be chcecked thorougly before being let into our country.
secanix79:
between Algeria and poland,

i know that a lot of polish people built infrastructure in algeria and other arab countries.things have changed a lot since then and we have to follow certain rules.i wrote that you might be connected to some terrorists not that you are.
secanix79:
who's making ur country better? polish or ( strangers) as u called them? what about the biggest companies? they'r Polish????

what has it got to do with your visa?i'm not against everyone.i'm against letting in just everyone as they wish without proper checking.
secanix79:
I have a very good life in here, A big shop, nice care, moto bike, big house

i'm happy for you.in this case apply for a business visa it will be easier.or take your wife to algeria or just patiently wait for a normal visa.
secanix79:
running away from poland to england and other countries,

who said that we are running away?i'm going back.it's my choice to live here or there.
secanix79:
it's not like u see Africa at Animal Planet's chanel

i've been to two african countries so i know the reality there and i don't watch animal planet.
you overstayed your visa and conned the authorities about the purpose of your saty in poland.in america ,you would be never let back to the country again.lots of people from african and asian countries marry european women just for the eu passport.however,
if you are truly in love with this woman ,let it be.i wish you good luck.

I have to wait 3 or 4 days to get one of document they asked, and the embassy is far from me.

I was calling the polish ministry of foreign in warsaw, and they said that's not normal to let me wait for almost 1 month, they already confirm my resident papers to the embassy, what can I do is to have a lawyer and they will paye it very expensive !

Am angry cuz of spending time, going there many times, talking to me in F***ing bad way......

u said war, killing......... how it's start? from small things to bigger, that's why am telling my story.
War is about 2 things : 1st Power and money, 2nd racism and religious !

I have to agree. Wars have nothing to do with bad services at Polish consulates.

They are on a power trip, you just need to wait.
