Anyone Polish who have visited The Philippines? What are your impressions of The Philippines and Filipinos? Have you visited one of the beach resorts? Where did you go? Would you come back for another visit? Would you recommend others to visit?

My friend's family is from there and she went there once to visit family. Many poor people, primitive lifestyle, some eat dogs, some have no electricity, hot with no air conditioning but very pretty. I'm sure the touristy spots are nice.

Krysia,

How long ago was this? Yes, 70% live in poverty. I have family on all ends (lower class, lower and upper middle)I haven't eaten dog but I heard some have eaten it. Now even rural areas improved their roads, houses have electricity, maybe airconditioning. I have seen the changes in my father and mother's hometowns.

Have you been there, to the beach resorts?

There are many Filipinos all over the world so no wonder Filipino people are well integrated, competitive, can assimilate and has adapted to diverse culture. To name a few, there are many filipino communities in USA, Australia, Dubai, Hongkong, some are overseas workers and some are immigrants.

True that Philippines is quite a poor country but it's the gov't that makes it poor but over all, when it comes to resources and people, they are more competitive, hardworking, hospitable, friendly and more adaptive compare to other asian people.

i've actually visited Philippines in 2006 Summer,, first time i arrived there at night.. it looked like a seriously poor country,.. and i was actually thinking about returning back to Lebanon the same day(then... a war broke out :P) so i was kinda lucky lol ... once i got near the centre.. i saw the Skyrises,, and i changed my mind.. i said i would manage in a City area.. was nice... i remember when i was with my dad.. everystreet we walked.. there would be tons of people screaming "Welcome SIR" "Good day SIR" "SIR" "SIR" "SIR".. even Taxis would beg you to ride in em .. but the Taxis are pretty Damn cheap.. the Maxium you can pay is $2!!!!.. but yet.. you can see alot of People beging for money.. but if you get urself to the Tropical Islans of Boracay.. it's a Different place.. the Beaches are simple Amazing!!!

and i remember when i experienced my first Typhoon!! holly Mother of@!@!@ one moment its all clear.. the second SECOND! Raining like HELL!! streets were flooded.. and the WInds blowin like ****.... the power at the hotel was down for an hour.

in an all Conclusion,. if you wanna go there for Vacation... its nice to visit the Tropical Islands and some other Attractions.. but i wouldn't live there.
