I`ve got a Polish reg. car on Polish plates that I drove to England for various reasons. It`s registered on friends name but I need to transfer it on another`s friends name (both Polish).

So my question is, do I have to take the car to Poland to transfer from one owner to another, for, I don`t know, police check, VIN number check, etc. or I can do it from abroad by sending copy of documents?

Not possible unless he has a registered residence here.

I suspect that he wants to avoid speed cameras and also wants to avoid paying UK taxation, as well as cheaper insurance.

Yes, something like that. But it`s a company`s car ant it`ll be driven all over the Europe/UK so the tax or insurance don`t matter.

Transfer like what? as sale? Buyer should pay Polish tax.

I don't think so. They may want to change car's plates and see the tax payment and insurance receipt. Obtain new papers take one month. If you have bad luck they may refer the car to pass MOT.

Yes, like a sale. Pay the tax, OK that`s not a problem.

So the car has to be taken to Poland and do it from there?

You can send buyer with plates and papers to Poland for one month. If seller address and buyer address belong to the same district and car have new, white plates you can avoid changing plates. If MOT deadline is distant you can avoid take car to Poland to pass MOT.

but you do it at your own risk ;)

So basically it`s much more easier to go to there and do it on the spot.

Thanx for that
