Not the golfers?, i know lots of people that love getting up at 4:00 am, when the worlds is quiet and they can have the planet virtually to themselves, working at a golf course is a pleasure.
PlasticPole: Most people do work for the benefit of mankind plus a salary. They make the things we need. They grow the food we eat. They provide the services that make life easier and better. Are you saying that people are willing to work for the benefit of mankind alone? Most won't. Stuff won't get done and everything will go downhill from there. No impetus will exist for achieving the technology needed to create the hydrogen economy. People won't do it just for the benefit of having it and allowing everyone else to have at aswell.
Most people will not, the GERMANS would, they have exactly the right mentality for a resource based economhy. The US is no where near ready, its all a case of educating the people, unlearn all that crap which is poisining your mind for example, all the myths that youve tyoped above based on what youve been exposed to.

Meathead: The future is using sugar to supply our energy needs and biochemicals replacing petrochemicals.
Sure lets just burn biochemicals instead of oil, gas and coal, biochemicals are RENEWABLE but they still need burning which doesnt address the global warming issue. 'Sugar Energy' WTF is that? The future IMO is clean electricity, solar, wind, tidal, wave, etc.. there can be no more excuses as to why we are not generating clean electricity.
