just saw this and wondered how many more flights like these the tax payer had to pay for

Polish murderers, rapists and drug smugglers arrested in Britain are being flown home to prison on secret flights… So many Poles wanted for crimes - including murder and rape - are being picked up in Britain that "Con Air" flights from Warsaw are now regularly touching down in London…

The Polish ministry of internal affairs says THE NUMBER OF CRIMINALS EXTRADITED FROM THE UK TO POLAND HAS RECENTLY GROWN 14-FOLD.

Let me remind you that the crime rate in Poland is much lower than in the UK. And the vast majority of crimes in the UK are committed by other ethnicities.

I yelled at the crowd "I'm an Electrician, let me go, let me go", recited Ohm law, recited 17th Edition wiring regulations but they was merciless. Resistance was futile :'(

yeah well in the usa the govt charges 10 thousand bucks for a toilet seat. if they want a decent price they might try using Orbit.com. they'd save millions. when govt purchased items costs that much it usually means they are buying from a 'friend'... Just more corporate welfare really.

From the link: "Since April last year, the Met alone received 210 extradition requests from Poland." Only 210 requests in 15 months? ....and most of these are for minor offenses like traffic tickets, etc.? Not much of a story except for the amount of money spent.

Yes but what can you do? Shoot them at dawn or something like that? Better they are languishing in Polish prisons without the comfort they have in the UK prison system.

Let’s see first you moan about too many criminals finding a safe haven in UK and now when Polish government tells you who those people are you moan about picking them up? Con - Air is paid for and provided by Polish government, all you have to do is to pick them up and drop them off since they are in your jurisdiction. Now you moan that there are too many on the list for petty crime and it cost you too much to pick them up? It’s a case of damn if you do damn if you don’t, there’s no way to please some of you, is there?

I'd like to address the toilet seat legend (paraphrasing):
The P-3C Orion antisubmarine aircraft went into service in 1962. Twenty-five years later it was determined that the toilet shroud, the cover that fits over the toilet needed replacement. Since the airplane was out of production this would require new tooling to produce. These on-board toilets required a uniquely shaped, molded fiberglass shroud that had to satisfy specifications for the vibration resistance, weight, and durability. The molds had to be specially made as it had been decades since their original production. The price reflected the design work and the cost of the equipment to manufacture them. Lockheed Corp. charged $34,560 for 54 toilet covers or $640 each, (which is reasonable considering the amount of paperwork and testing needed to put anything on the plane. However, once the proverbial sh!t hit the fan,) the president of Lockheed at the time, Lawrence Kitchen, adjusted to the price to $100 each and returned $29,165.

I think this is a fantastic thing. Why should GB pay for other countries criminals? Back to Poland, and share a cell with 4 others! I have no respect or mercy for people who have been given the opportunity to work and improve their lives in other countries, just to break the law there. Now, let's hope the same will apply for all the other countries in Europe, and include non-european criminals returning to their countries as well. We will soon be be closing prisons and laying off police officers here in Europe.

I really feel like posting about how many Brits are in Spanish prisons, but I cant be bothered, but I will say the numbers are not small, we're not exactly squeeky clean ourselves!

To be fair,what Ive read on the extradition thing is that most are Polish crooks on the run from Polish justice,ie,commited offencesa in Poland,run away and been caught here in the UK.

before anyone should be allowed in to the uk everyone should have a crb check they get done in their country and bring it with them......no crb .no entry ...no wonder theres no crime in poland they have all left poland who can ........it is unbelievable any any criminals can just walk through immigration............i blame the goverment ............

You were lucky. Look what they did to Brazilian electrician:

Cheaper than locking them up at HMP. The point is that many of the cases which Poland expects the UK to cover the costs of extraditing people to answer would never get anywhere near a court in the UK.
