Been doing a little research after my mate claimed all the Poles were hard working and didn't claim a thing.

Here are some polish-language websites i found that give information on how to take/claim benefits from the UK

http://benefity-uk.co.uk/
http://benefity.info/home/
http://benefityipodatki.co.uk/
(I have no doubt similar websites exist in Slovak, Czech, etc I wouldn't bet on Urdu or Punjabi though, the benefits knowledge base has been very well established in the UK for many years now :) The eastern Europeans are pretty new at the game - since 2004)

Some common google search phrases:

Benefity = Benfits
anglia = England
wielkiej brytanii = Great Britain

benefity anglia
benefity w anglii
benefity w wielkiej brytanii
benefity dla samotnych matek

Some more research led me to find the major polish-language forum site for poles in the UK. http://www.mojawyspa.co.uk/zasady.php

Doing a forum search 'benefity' found 4189 pages. Deeper investigation, armed with google translator gave me the impression the vast majority of these threads are started from people who are asking questions about how easy it is to claim benefits straight away. No mention of working.

One post stood out in my mind - A poster gave a fellow compatriot some helpful advice! Register on the phone as a "self-employed cleaner" to get a national insurance fast tracked for you, so you will be able to get the benefits claim in as soon as possible. Various other little titbits are available regarding the jobcenter that even the British probably don't know LOL

i do not begrudge anyone coming to the UK to work hard and provide a life for themselves but there is SERIOUS blatant abuse of the system happening here. We have enough spongers of our own, we don't need more.

I think it's safe to say that someone wants to keep all the benefits for himself.

that is not entirely fair as Hudson claims to work and must feel frustrated seeing what he considers to be hoards of foreigners coming to the UK and helping themselves to the nash

where are you living Hudson?

Hudsonhicks ,here you go again! Now that you've posted all those links about how to get benefits in Britain henceforth you are advertising them for those who had no idea how to get those benefits and now might say "Great! thank you Hudsonhicks" !
boleta  Oct 29, 11, 19:36    #5
address your grievances to your UK politicians. they are responsible for setting the rules. not migrants fault to claim what is available and legal

good point. it seems that Hudson has inadvertently become the Polish prospective claimant's best friend.

We are a very charitable nation we send billions a year to Africa and other poor places. I suppose one might argue that feeding the Poles is just as worth a cause????

UK gave the second largest overall amount of aid money of any country, at $13.76 billion; this was behind the USA which gave $30.15 billion.

without wanting to sound unkind, I believe that there are very few people on this site who seem to care

I feel that it is bad for anybody irrespective of nationality to travel to another country and milk the system

the majority of English teachers do not seem to give a toss
many of the Poles seem to believe that it is their birth right

if you are going to post, go on the Daily Mail site
don't go on Polishforums because you are not going to be spreading the word to your fellow countrymen

the name Polishforums ought to have given you a hint

I think we get the point, you don't like benefits being paid to foreigners but take it up with the government because you are not going to get any sympathy here, it's obvious!

Yes, you are right - here is even a page in English too: DirectGov - Public services all in one place, subsection: Money, Tax and Benefits, http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/MoneyTaxAndBenefits/index.htm .
And these traitors dare to publish something like this: "Beginners Guide to Benefits", so these Polish leeches could easily copy and translate it to their own pages. You must quickly report it to proper authorities. But wait - isn't it the UK Government own web site?

Unknown?

It's in the Wail almost every week about how foreigners are "sponging" off the benefits system.

Anyway, all you have to do is change the law so that benefits are only awarded for a short period of time, based on work history. Simple.

There is an element of benefit theft, it's true. I can't condone this and such Poles cannot get off with it. However, don't typecast the whole nation.
boleta  Oct 29, 11, 21:00    #23
poor hudson, his provocation didn't work the way he planned, so he's moving on to insult the whole nation to get even

I'm sure nobody tried THAT trick before hehehe

Certain Poles will make sure he is a targetted man for his comments so he'd best wrap up and let the enforcement authorities do what they are paid to do.

Britain rips it's citizens off. If you're paying tax, try and get some of it back.

The fact remains that you claim to be proud of your country, yet you can't even spell the language properly.

Incidentally, "exile nomads, globe-trotting the world living out of other peoples money" sounds exactly like the British :D

It's unemployment. Instead of actually finding work, he prefers to sit online and abuse Poles instead - who are too busy working to abuse him back.
