Its very sad, but as you can see from the article, they have the option of going home, surely life cant be that bad in Poland.

The Guardian is generally a high quality paper, one that I read in my more leftist days. Vladimir, LOL. That's Russian. Włodziemierz or Władysław are perhaps the closest equivalents in Polish. Nevermind, they will find the benefit path ;) ;)

NO they wont..simple fact is these people are eating rats because they are in limbo, no job and no rights to benefits, but what they do have is the choice to go home at the expense of the tax payers here...which as pointed out is cheaper than funding their frequent visits to A&E because of alcohol poisening due to drinking hand wash! Having read the article once again, I personally would put them on a coach (certainly not a flight) and deport them, they are not excercising their right to work so therefore they have no right to be here...

Very good point, Am. I can't remember the name of the EU Directive but it requires them to be taking active steps towards procuring employment. We should not have to clean up after them but let's agree on one thing. If you put them on coaches home, organise a whipround so that we can cover the seats with protective material so they don't stink them up and then fully spray it afterwards. I would NOT want to sit on a chair that those skunks have sat on.

They need to get out of Britain quick. Taxpayers are paying for the Afghan War more than they will ever know and a host of other things. The time has come for that to stop and to clear out the trash. We've had enough of being used as a dustbin.

This is only the beginning, wait another few years and see what happens to polish people here, fecking parasites! can't say the same for many polish women, they have taken over the prostitute business in the city and some of their men have been fortunate to get jobs as pimps for the women...so happy days until the bubble bursts!

More on topic, Poles here snoop around for tidbits and scraps in the central garbage dumps. It's horrible to see as it's not sealed food. There is a Silesian name for them, taken from German. I can't remember it, haszoksznupel or sth like that :)

They'd feel right at home in Louisiana :) :) The MOPS system here just isn't well enough resourced to help out everyone. It's more of a symbolic institution to create the impression that sth is being done.

I remember reading, in this forum, that Poles living in England were also eating swans and ducks in the parks. Eventually, the homeless Poles with start eating Brits. The Brits are very gullible and they look like turkeys. :)

Rat burgers and swan pies hmmmmmmmmmm. 1/4 of all homeless are Poles bearing completely russian names. i call it bullsh*t. Back when i was in London i saw my fair share of Poles on the streets, doubt they ate rats and they were definitely crowded out by negros, pakis and the colorfull merry lot squatting on the same streets.

I am extremely worried for my friends in Silesia who'll soon be going to Holland to pluck flowers. I hope they don't end up on the street begging for food. They are very excited cause they are going to make 5 Euro/h (their daily wage in poland)

Don't worry ... the flower business is still going strong over here. As is the fruit business and even transportation. And besides, in the Netherlands there are only a couple of homeless Poles, who are mainly converging around Rotterdam Central Station.

I guess the reason why they are homeless is because they like the alcohol more than working. And since I don't think your friends fall into the same category, you don't have much to worry about.
