Why do so many Polish guys in the UK have a crew cut or buzz cut?

I like having my hair short by I have never shaved my head -

short hair especially for me is simply practical - when my hair grows longer it gets curly - for me it's a serious nuisance - I can't be bothered with combing it - after washing short hair you don't need to dry it with an electric dryer - drying with a towel is enough

as for shaving your head - well - I simply don't get the idea - seems pretty odd to me - that is also a question of how long you need to leave your hair so that you do not look nearly shaved-off (I don't personally like that kind of look too on myself) - from what I have learned people with shaved heads look more aggressive - I doubt it is a conscious choice most who do do it subconsciously - to look more dangerous/aggressive

there is another side to the practicality of cutting your hair short - many do it with the help of their friends saving on a visit to a barber (electric haircutting machines get there use here and these can be pretty cheap) - in England a visit to a barber sets you back at least 10 quid and for many Poles it is an pointless waste of good money (I could well live on 10 quid a week for example at times in England (I mean buying food stuff)) - I still prefer to have my hair cut by a barber and with scissors mostly so I never economised on it

now I know what a buzz cut is - and no - I wouldn't like my hair this way (it's just next to shaving your head ain't it)

It's because they think it makes them look good and macho.

That, and hairiness is something a lot of people don't like. It's a trend to wax the hair off the chest and arms, and off the scalp, apparently. It's the anti hair movement. Personally, it reminds me of those Area 51 alien renditions. I don't like the Chewbacca "hair to toe" hair shirt look, either. Can't we compromise, folks?

You don't see much mixing between the Polaks and the English here in terms of relationships.

Ugly hair, ugly guys, what do you expect?
Same with their ugly swim suits, they are so disgustingly tight you see all the nuts in there.

Another San Francisco native. Why the hell do you even look at man in the first place? No matter how tight your bathing suit, you still won't measure up, that's fore sure. Piece of friendly advice, let go of your fantasies and get yourself a red-neck woman. Perhaps you did? Was she disappointed? That explains your perversion. What's the matter? not enough of a man for her?

And some men shave their heads because of thinning hair so they won't have to do a combover.

Yes we see so many Polish men with shaved heads or really short hair in Poland.
If there were just a few it would be ok but in my opinion there are too many looking like skin heads .
I think it is a trend in Poland for men but in Southern Europe it is associated with "White trash,Hooligans and socially with Unemployed or manual workers.( Miners for practical reasons etc)

In the rules I deviced some time ago on "how to recognize a Pole?", short hair is rule number one, as follows:

- almost all men have very short hair
- women too have short hair as soon as they turn some age (30?)
- some Poles will have a peculiarly Slavic hair cut: short hair, but with a strip of longer hair running down the whole back side of the head
- the above doesn't apply to artists and people in the entertainment industry.

;-)

For someone who feels inordinately disinclined to all things Polish, you do seem to be spending an awful lot of time on this forum. And the reason for this post is? Are you a hair stylist, or thinking of setting up a barber's saloon(: ?

One reason is conservatism among polish.Right loving individuals always tend to more minimalistic hair than their revolutionary counterparts.Another reason is practical.Avoiding spending too much on visits to coiffures.

haircut is expensive in most western countries (normally $20-$40) thats why they just cut it very short as it can be easily done by their friends using clipper. Thats what my friend (working in holland) told me anyways.
