As I said it is a hobby not a business investment. You would want to be mad to invest in Spain. I created jobs for locals in Spain and pay them well above other bars in the area. I am not in it for profit. Myself and my cousin went in on it with two Spanish friends who run the bar for 365 days a year.

I plough profits back into the bar as it is my pride and joy. Eventually I will buy a couple of bars in Dublin. This is a learning curve for me, my apprenticeship, if you will.

I do not know how you can compare this to Polish shops in Ireland, its absurd.

Iam all for enterprise if its needed, but if you could only operate that bar because you undercut the locals then i would think your a complete a**.

Just another technical comment; Poles are central European, not east European although that is often mistakenly stated.

What's the name of your bar in Spain? I heard it's called "Little Polonia".

Ireland for the Irish. ;)

BritishEmpire

I pay them two euro more than other bars in the area. They are allowed a few beves after work if they so wish, sweat beers. Meals are also provided for those working over four hours. They can order from the menu once they do not take the ****. Hardly exploitation is it.

This whole debate is showing the difference between practicalities and a religious approach. Check out what is said at about 3 mins into this discussion, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HPgwkjVixvI

Practicalities, however, may call for some action to be taken. It's important to take a balanced approach and look at the bigger picture. The reality is, you have little leeway to change things, short of pulling out of the EU.

Please watch the presentation above (the Youtube one). Immigration and the economy are central topics.

Listen to it in its entirety, he'll open your eyes to many things. Sorry, immigrants are needed and it is the fault of government that they didn't impose quotas or upper limits.

What a plonker ;)

Ireland for all!

Regarding the plantation of Ireland - It happened.
Much wrong was committed on both sides
As with alot of old history, the stronger side at the time won
Many abuses followed.
peoples divided.
only in the past 15 years have we really seen moving on from this?

The government and people have to allow for natural occurences to take place. Anyone who knew the dynamic at the time in Poland, prior to accession to the EU, could have predicted the exodus to the UK and Ireland.

There's no use in crying over spilt milk.

Ireland for all? Cop the fook on. We cannot absorb the world. We need the unemployed eastern euros to go home. One TD suggested paying them to return to their own nations. But we would they? Polands foooked too.

Maybe you can head up north and join up with the loyalists (from the ulster plantation) and break some windows? You can start first with the Romanians, then work your way down the street to the Poles, don't forget the Nigerians, and then why not some Chinese (not the chip shop windows though).

Socialist Spain and Germany do the same both countries have paid foreigners to come home once they understand that they cannot come back for up to five years. You are not permanent residents in my nation, you are guest workers. No work, go home.

I would say there is easily 200,000 Poles here.

In Ireland there have never been more than 130-150k Poles at the same time. Now It is max 80-90k.

What has a poster from over 100 years ago got to do with present immigration controls? Look you nut, Polish immigration into Ireland is the equivalent of 1,600,000 Irish moving into Poland over a three year period. Its pure madness. We made an error by allowing them free access to our workforce. Time to rectify that error.

Here is what I propose, revoke the free movement of labour for the accession states and issue a work permit scheme, those who are in present employement are exempt, those who are on the dole given one months welfare payments and a one way ticket home. Anybody who wishes to move to Ireland from the accession states must apply for a work permit.

If nobody in Ireland or the "old" european states(the other 14), then and only then, can an employer search for applicants in eastern europe.

Grzegorz_

I have posted links more times than I care to remember.

So, you reckon over 300,000 Poles went home? I find that very hard to believe. Theres 90,000 in Dublin easily, they are everywhere.

Time to put a stop to this free for all.

Ah I see the therapy is working well.....NOT. Didnt you try the weedkiller yet ?

Question - What is your position on the illegal Irish in America who do not have a visa to work there? Do we take them all back? Let them join or dole queues?

All from this month. Also on the news now, another polish national in court over knocking down and killing some girl in his car while under the influence. Ah yes, the joys of mass immigration from Poland.

You are the one calling it a plantation, which it is clear to everyone except you that it is not and you are shaming yourself by calling it such.

You are shaming yourself by not knowing what that poster represents.

There are 80 million Irish people living out of Ireland.
Talk about tipping the scales, we are possibly the biggest load of immigrants today in the world.

No, you needed the work force and messed up the economy and are now looking for a scapegoat with NO proof.

80 million claim Irish ancestry. So what? That does not mean they are Irish. Ever hear the term Plastic Paddies? How many Irish citizens are living abroad?

There are millions of Poles abroad, much more so than Irish.

My links are from respected sources. All Irish broadsheets.

A plantation- An original settlement in a new country; a colony.

Thats what we have here, a Polish plantation in Ireland.

You are all paddies with Polish girlfriends, therefore biased , without mass immigration you lot would be still single.

Hi Paddies.....hows she cutting today? How you getting on with the planty thingy majig?

I am organising spot checks at the airports and ports of our great nation. We are stopping anyonr with a shovel, pick or spade that look as if they have the intention of planting any sort of objects on our soil.

So far we have nothing to report but its early days yet.

I see we have the same comedian on again tonight.

80 million can return to Ireland whenever they wish? Is David McWilliams a fool? He argues the same point. These people have Irish blood, Irish ancestry, and many of them have an interest in Irish customs and traditions, our culture and language. They view themselves as Irish.

Ha ha ha, you are changing, first they are Irish, then they are plastic paddies ha ha ha.

RevokeNice:

Ha ha ha ha absolutely NOT.

In 1995, President Mary Robinson reached out to the "70 million people worldwide who can claim Irish descent."[53] Today the diaspora is believed to contain over 80 million people.[54]From here again

Rubbish
In politics and in history, a colony is a territory under the immediate political control of a state.

from here

Can you not see that noone believes a word you say, only a true nutter thinks it is everyone else NOT himself and boy do you fit the name nutter.

Id rather the plastic paddies here instead of the Poles. At least the plastics have a bit of Irish blood in them and some interest in the country. The Poles view us as an ATM.

I wouldnt touch one with yours. Czech, Irish, and South American girls leave the Polish ones in the halfpenny place.

I have little to do with Polish invaders. I avoid shops and bars that employ them, I barely speak to them in work unless I have too.

I am on a Polish bleeding forum, they are hardly going to agree with me on here are they? The Irish on here are all male and dating a Polish girl, therefore they would be biased.
Your man IrishDeano lives in happy land and Ireland32 fails to realise the troubles are over like some Jap hiding in the jungle thirty years after world war 2.

Now, tell me this, how much money have you lend your Polish bird?

Ireland32
They are illegal and therefore should be deported, we should clamp down on illegals here too. It would probably break even if our illegals where returned and we deported those illegally here. Ship back a load of failed asylum seekers too while we are at it and get them off the welfare line.

Anyway, its up to the American Government.
