Poland has arrived in TV soap opera "Eastenders"

the polish woman , works too many hours because she has to make money because her polish husband drinks to much and lost his job........lol!!!!!!!!!

the way how british people looks at the polacks as workalcholic people !!!!!!!

'EastEnders' used to be one of my favorite shows, but I took a break from it for a while, and when I put it back on, I found I couldn't take looking at and listening to low class, mealy mouthed Cockney ******* and their women any more.

I know that EastEnders takes place in a fictional 'Wolford' neighborhood in East London, but when I lived in London, the Hackney area reminded me of EastEnders land, quite depressing.

Nothing wrong with low class accents, I quite like mine.


I think Hackney people differ though from the Eastenders tv characters. Hackney folk can travel on the underground (tubes/trains) and on buses. The majority own their own washing machine and they don't all work within 20 seconds from their front door.

Pretty much, but the squalor is pure Seven Sisters. No community spirit though, and the pubs are full of knuckle-dragging Sors fans.

The new character isn't the first Pole in Eastenders - back in 2006 there was a Polish builder called Sebastian who shagged Shirley.

But of course the South was beaten by the North - there was a Pole on Coronation Street 50 years ago. I'm not sure of his name, but he was married to Linda Tanner, Elsie's daughter.

South west had it in the 80s with that Polish Porter in Casualty, and before anyone moans that this was another low wage job blah blah, a Polish mate of mines dad came over in the 80s and worked as a Hospital Porter despite his degree :)

wasn't there some Polish bird in Eastenders years ago who married Phil Mitchell? The poor good woman disappeared quickly after that I suppose! Or is this a figment of my tortured imagination?
