I was just wondering, with the influx of Poles to the UK and the English to Poland. What kind of co-operation does the UK police have with the Polish police?

If someone commits a crime in the UK and returns to Poland. Does the UK police work with the Polish police to bring them to justice or will it be a case of, can't be bothered?

I think murder will be a no brainer. But in terms of theft, fraud, driving offenses ect.

It's just I know someone who has done a runner back to Poland for an offense, that's in my eyes minor, but he is scared that the police is coming for him.

My wife was telling about a documentary she watched regarding a thoroughly decent Polish guy who had been living in England for a few years and had a wife and child. The English Police caught up with him for an assault charge he had hanging over him from Poland something like 7 years previously. He was deported and sent to prison in Poland.

WOW! But how about the other way round? How interested would the Polish police be in helping the UK police?

UK thugs don`t commit crimes in Poland. Neither do they seek hiding in Poland.
I once translated for the Krakow police and the only British cases were drunk soccer fans (my God, what kind of English they spoke?) or hotel guests who demolished their rooms. After paying a fine they left Poland without any criminal record.

The English police seem very keen to help their Polish counterparts, so, I get the feeling that as its only likely to be the odd one that they would have to pick up, they would bend over backwards to show that they are just as capable of obliging here. I would imagine they would enjoy the novelty value as there are a couple of thousand Poles in the English prison system.

If the Brits ask for him, Polish cops will look around and send him to UK if they find him. They do it to Americans wanted by FBI.

for sure, plus driving the wrong way down a motorway, while disqualified, simultaneously eating a swan.

Not funny at all. I saw a pillock do just that back in 04 on the M18,fek knows how far he'd come,or just done a U'y but this PL plate banger drove up the down ramp straight at me................to say I experienced arse pucker factor 10 for a second puts it mild.
Mind, the French car that pulled to a stop in the middle of a duel carraige way into Doncaster to read a map came close..............hand on heart, theres a reason i dont drive on the continent :)

So being a well inform source: there is a really good and nice cooperation between Polish and English police. There is open exchange of information. Seems to be working.

I suspect the only British criminals in Poland are the lads being drunk and disorderly on a weekend trip to Krakow or Warsaw.

Look at the figures mate, a few million Polish residents in the UK versus around 20,000 TOPS Brit residents in Poland plus the stag boys. Its a no brainer....
