I agree. My best friend is Polish (and str8), but he had to return to Poland permanently. I miss him greatly! I wish I could find a nice young polish gay man to hang out with. I fell in love with Polish culture and values.

There are alot of gay poles here in Chicago, but alot of them cannot be as open as they like...but if you go out to the bars they are there. Many of them are very successful. I know one who is only 34 years old and has a chain of stores.

I would be very surprised if there was any gay Poles. Oh and the gay in Chicago mainly live in "boys town" in uptown. There is not as many gays in Chicago as you would think, but from what I know they tend to all live there. but yeah, good luck with the whole "gay pole" thing but I think that is mission impossible. Poland is a different country with different culture.

It has been shown that the percentage of homosexuals are about the same in all countries, the only difference is how open people are about it.

There are gay Poles all over Chicago. They just don't show it like they do in Boystown. I can tell you of at least 9 or 10 who live right off of Belmont and Central in Chicago

There are plenty of gay bars in Poland, gay dating websites with tens of thousands of members and the so-called 'conservative culture' doesn't seem to have the slightest effect.

If there are thousands of gay people in Warsaw, Kraków, Gdańsk etc I don't see how Chicago would be any different.

There are a lot of Polish men that would love to be with him. I'm a 35yo gbm, and get a lot of attention from Polish/Russian/Ukranian men. Problem is that they are usually not out of the closet. Can have a lil' fun, but it's almost as if a relationship is out of the question. ..and never worry, when they want you, they will more than let you know (at least in my experiences). :0)

Hey, if you are interested, there's a Polish gay group on a meetup site. Check out Polscy Geje w Chicago on the meetup site. You need to enter the name: "Polscy Geje w Chicago" in google and click on the link.

The group is private and you do NEED to speak Polish to be accepted to the group. Guys who are Polish by blood, but don't speak Polish, or want to "learn" Polish...well, sorry, this is not a gropu for you. This is not meant to discriminate, but the purpose of the group is to create a friendly and supportive environment for Polish guys who have come here from Poland. Having non-Polish speakers in the group would totally change the dynamics of the group. Hope you understand.

So the gay poles are in Poland and the hardworking, no time for fun ones are here? I am a first generation Pole who has been out for 30 years. I know I am goin to get in trouble for this but I find Poles from Poland are very macho and are closeted!!!!
