Walesa doesn't do things for free. I very much doubt Walesa would go to America (and talk to people at a fundraiser) for free!

So again - how much is Walesa being paid to endorse this candidate?

You have to understand my point of this thread was to let people know he's coming to Chicago. Since I was born here in Chicago, I regard Walesa a bit higher than some others.

What do you know about Walesa? Do you even realise that the vast majority of Polish people see him as being a terrible President?

This is a great thing for Polish people and I'm sick of hearing negativity. I didn't post this to have argument.

Erm...why is Walesa going on an all-expenses paid trip to Chicago noteworthy for Polish people? I think absolutely every Polish person realises that Walesa does what's best for Walesa and that he'll take money from anyone that offers the right amount.

Incidentally, from Wikipedia..

Adam Andrzejewski, the eldest of seven children, was born in Herscher, Illinois to John and Janet Andrzejewski. He has Polish roots[6]. His grandparents Andrzej and Teresa Andrzejewski came to the U.S. from Poland in 1928 and settled in Evanston, Illinois. During the Great Depression the Andrzejewski family, with five children, shared a small apartment and Andrzej Andrzejewski worked for over 14 hours per day[7]. His father taught history and political science at Limestone Elementary School for 38 years until he retired in 2008.[8] His father also ran for state representative in 1976, and again in 1978, attempting to unseat the then house majority leader, George Ryan. How does this match with...

He's a unique individual, coming from 8 generations of a family farm in rural Illinois.

Looks like dear old Adam can't even get his story straight!

It would be nice to have a polish republican, but the public does not hear anything about him on the radio or TV. OK, I did hear some radio adds, no TV. We all know that politics involve money (lots of it) and even though he might be the greatest man to run Illinois - his chances are slim. Therefore it is better to vote for somebody who has a chance. Sorry Adam.

He needs to put his name out there for people to know and recognize him. His polish last name itself it's not going to cut it.

Good for him. Still - not a chance. I appreciate his ambitions however and would give him my vote if I knew more about him and what he stands for. As I said, the lovely polish last name is not good enough. Besides, he admits he does not even speak polish at all. Too bad, he should at least learn how to say kurwa.lol.

I wonder what the hoopla will be with Walesa...Frankly, I don't know much about this man besides being the Solidarity movement number one man and the president after that. Even though his vocabulary was as good as George W Bush's in America. However, he needs some respect for what he is known in the world for - making the commie system crumble. We need somebody like him now.

Eurola, allow me to inform you:

Polls conducted among the GOP has Adam way ahead in Democratic counties of the 3rd and 5th congressional district, Polish populations, and southern Illinois's democratic county of St. Clair. Also, he has widespread support in all of rural Illinois because the people of Illinois do not like the other candidates being from the Chicago area. Adam's been raising a ton of money from many supporters donating less than $500 each, all in one week totaling around $200,000.

As far as radio, he is on AM 1030 often. If you actually listened, they translate his ads/radio segments into Polish. They talked about Walesa's visit this entire week on there. You just gotta listen. He also runs a lot of ads on WLS, which is ABC's station I believe, and they have many viewers.

One more thing, go to http://www.adamforillinois.com and check out his videos, especially the one on his home page that "announces his run for governor" He leads a grassroots campaign just like Scott Brown did in Massachusetts. If we get out the vote February 2nd, he certainly can win. He would be the first Polish Governor in the history of this world, so this is a proud time for Polish-Americans. Eurola, you can count on this.

Which is pretty shameful given that he appears to be playing up the I"M POLISH card. I'm probably as much Polish as he is, which is not at all!

Andy McKenna is the only candidate who grew up living large... Adam grew up having to work various jobs to pay for college. Adam doesn't put a lot of money into this race, he is not trying to buy the election. And you can continue to think Walesa is getting money out of this. The fundraiser is for Adam. You have no clue at all.

Do you know about any of the other candidates? And I am a volunteer, I am entitled to speak my free mind about politics across the world. You are here bashing Adam and you are not even in Illinois, so this thread should not apply to you. If you want to talk about British politics, I would join such a thread. I am a supporter of all of our allies and would fight for them any day. When I saw Adam last Tuesday, he pronounced his name right in Polish. I don't know what video you are referring to but he knows how to say his name in the Americanized way and Polish way.

Actually, now I do, since you started spamming this forum. Wouldn't vote for any of them - none of them seem to have the Mass. guy's attitude in that he is entering the Senate to compromise and collaborate, not oppose. An-gee seems to be very much the normal GUNS! LOW TAXES! GUNS! type candidate that's not going to do much for America.

Polishforums.com - where you can discuss Poland. If Walesa is going to Chicago to endorse a particular political candidate, it's of interest to me, who finds Walesa's buy-an-endorsement attitude amusing.

The video is on his youtube channel - he's pronouncing his name in a very, very bizzare way. Certainly, anyone with a passing knowlege of Polish (that's most of Chicago's Polish population out then) can tell you that it's most certainly not "An-gee-ef-ski".

do you have direct information (confirmed) that Walesa is getting paid, because if not, then you just a pesty forum gossiper;) and not very credible.
