sledz: Most of the Poles are moving away from the city, to places like Mt. Prospect, Park Ridge, Norridge, Harwood Heights, Des Plaines and the extreme NW city limits. Also Roselle, Addison, Schaumburg, Glendale Heights, Westmont and Lombard.
sledz: The historically predominat Polish Belmont/Milwaukee area is totally Mexican now. Not totally; the "Red Apple" is just a block south of Belmont on Milwaukee and there are some stores in that area and south of there as well including a couple more restaurants.
sledz: Belmont /Central is like the last stronghold of the Polish neighborhoods in Chicago but its turning Mexican little by little each day:( Very slowly; lets hope the Poles hang in there. But as previously noted, lots of Poles live in the suburbs now. They have become or are becoming Americanized.
