Now American men want to marry Polish women for polish papers.

It's interesting how roles are reversing...

My boyfriend is fed up with living in New York, and the recent recession isn't sweetening his views of it. We traveled to Europe this summer and stayed two weeks in Poland, and now he wants to live there and get European/Polish citizenship.

From the limited research I did, it seems that if we got married after five years there he would be able to get Polish citizenship.

Is there any way this time period can be shortened? What are the conditions?

After five years, he may qualify and may be accepted. It is not a foregone conclusion.

Owning and running a business might help, but I don't really know.

So how can he own and run this potential business as a foreigner, being only married to a national?

Simple, he puts the business in your name but keeps 51% of the shares. If you are getting married, you should be able to trust each other anyway.

The bottom line is u got refused to got married in states as the rules now are strictly but negatively impacting the poles due to their daily increase in illegality.
This happened to my friend too and they told them to wait till after 2/3years and now the girl is pushing for marriage in poland.
So stop talking the possibilities of the impossibilities to the probabilities of the reasonabilities.

whose bottom line is it? and what daily increase? where are these things coming from and what do they have to do with what i am saying? it is not at all what i am talking about. none of this impacts me in any way.

besides, how can anyone forbid anyone from getting married if the two involved want it? you are not making sense to me, Papiez.

Please please please. I want to Marry a nice polish girl. I will sell everything move to Poland and take wonderful care of my new Polish family. I have been travelling all around the world looking for the perfect woman. I know she must be a Polish girl. I am a good, sensitive attractive man, who would make a wonderful husband. I don't smoke, good habits, even do the dishes (but can afford a maid), sense of humor, very generous in bed and care about my appearance. I will learn Polish in no time. I am good in languages. Just please I don't need another crazy American career Sex-And-The-City type ***** who thinks she is so great cause a lot of dogs want to lay her. I am not that type. Polish girls are fantastic! There are a lot of fantastic girls over here - I definitely don't miss my time in the States that's for sure.

Ok, starting a business isn't a guaranteed way to get things done. There are a lot of considerations they take into mind when processing your Karta Pobytu papers (I know, cause I own my own business here). Running a business here isn't nearly like the States, either cause think about this. The Polish government ends up with more than 50% of everything that comes through your door. VAT, 21%. Personal income tax, 19%. ZUS (social insurance and retirement taxes) more than 15% and ... if you make too much money, they even have a profit tax they add on top of that so you don't get too comfortable with things.

Plus, if you don't pay all of your 1) business bills on time, 2) personal bills on time the Polish government will reject your application for residency permit. You will have to show proof of income earned, as well as receipts of the bills you've paid showing you have no out-standing debts. This is important to take into consideration.

Marrying a girl will ease the process of getting your residency permit, but don't expect to get citizenship. As an American, you can only have dual-citizenship if you were born to an American and to another nationality - like, for example my brother's children as they have both US passports and Swiss passports. My brother, although married for more than 10 years to a Swiss girl...will only ever travel with his US passport.

The Polish government isn't going to give you a lifetime residency/work permit either. You will have to stay married for more than 3 years in order to get a "karta pobytu stalego" which is your "permanent" residency/work permit. By "permanent", I mean 10 years. ;)

If you live in Poland for more than 5 years straight, without leaving the country for more than a 60 days each year - then you will be able to apply for a "permanent" residency/work permit.

Your best bet is to get married to a Polish girl or try and have a company sponsor your application here in Poland as it's quite a complicated process.

I've successfully applied and managed to get more than 5 of these things, while also running my own business so if you have any questions feel free to ask. ;)

why not get married in the USA first? it's 1,000,000,000 times easier than trying to marry an American here, and if he gets sick of Poland, you'll have your marriage license in America if you decide to move back.

We're talking about just a few guys that are marrying Polish women and live in Poland so it's way too early to call it a role reversing situation. I personally know of one case from Lublin but that marriage didn't last and he's already back in Ohio.

I agree why anyone would like to live in Poland, especially from US? I cant wait to leave Poland.
Trust me life in Poland its not easy, it looks pretty when u only come to visit here.

Are u still interested meeting a nice girl from Poland? I woould be very happy to get to know u. I have lived in US for 10 years and I loved it.

Some black guys are totally okay, but I guess you've never even tried to befriend anyone outside of your little race-box? Some black guys - depending on which culture they've been brought up in - can be really macho and physically abusive towards their partners as well though, but then again you have your playboys and your abusers among white guys as well. Either way, it's her life and her business!

Yes, but it's typically not that commonplace among whites (abusing partners, leaving kids, and so forth). It's not racist to remind someone considering a relationship with a black partner the cultural differences that exist. Trust me , there ar many and there is quite a chasm of mores, expectations, etc, etc.

I'm not talking about one goddamn state or region.. I didn't say white never do it. However, look at the statistics of unwed black mothers. That's not exactly rocket science. Whites put more sway on rearing kids, and eschewing violence.

No? Well, I wouldn't be too sure about the younger generations, and not to be excessively negative or anything, but I *do* see much more single mothers out here than let's say, fifteen years ago? But then again I don't really know if all those women experience this as a negative thing per se, so I'm not going to speak on their behalf or even expand on that subject too much!

I know, I have a few black friends myself. I've spoken with quite a few girls from Aruba, Surinam and the Dutch Antilles who have told me this about black guys quite a few times, so I'd say that's hardly racist coming from their own women! I also want to add that black guys who were born and raised in Holland tend to be gentlemen though. (Just being honest!) But you know, it's not about that. It's about Southern and how he puts his points across.
