beckski: Mr. Smoke restaurant is long-gone (over 3 years.) It's now a Mexican restaurant :( I was just going to say the same thing. Like we need another Mexican restaurant here. hehe. Isn't there a Polish church in Los Angeles that serves Polish food on Sundays?

This pic is from the Los Angeles County Fair in Pomona, CA. I noticed at least 10 vendors selling 1/3 pound kielbasa sandwiches. The sandwiches looked and smelled delicious. Most people ordered them with fried bell peppers and onions. Didn't see any vendors offering sauerkraut to add to the kielbasa. The fair will last until the first week of October.

Ironside: was it good? I usually eat before visiting the fair. It's much too overpriced. Ironside: Where kielbasa is better in Poland or in CA? The kielbasa in Poland was more favorful imo. Fortunately, we've also got a few Polish delicatessens in CA, that are a very close second place:) A sincere thanks PF, for putting up with me FIVE terrific years, muah!

shewolf: There's also European Deli and Bakery in Glendora, CA I've been there a few times. They also sell other items such as mags. Owners are very friendly. Probably the best time to go is on a Saturday. That's when some of their pastries have a 1/2 price discount. During the past weekend, I had the pleasure of visiting a Polish owned restaurant. It is the Best of Europe Deli. They're located in Lancaster, California. The owner is from a Polish town near Krakow.
Take a look at the fantastic homemade kapusta. It was filled with yummy slices of sausage. I can hardly wait to go back for more:)

Fyi, for kapusta lovers. Wienerschnitzel restaurants are having a 50th anniversary special, on July 17th. Sauerkraut hotdogs are only 61 cents all day long :) A sincere thanks PF, for putting up with me FIVE terrific years, muah!

$100 worth of goodies I purchased... holy crap! Each time I shop at the Glendora store, I spend a minimum of $40.00 on yummy Polish food. It's mostly homemade and lasts me a long time. So much tastier than the frozen stuff. I'm jealous. Me too! Let's go & raid his fridge :) A sincere thanks PF, for putting up with me FIVE terrific years, muah!

Are you sure it is great? Oh, the Polish sausage at Costco isn't the kind in the frozen section. It's at the food stand where they sell food that's ready to go. I don't know if all Costco's have them. Those are the good ones. Me too! Let's go & raid his fridge :) I think he already ate it all. :)

The most expensive item was a $16 jar of marinated baby mushrooms. They look like little maślaczki. I could not help myself.. but they're sooo good. I think Polish marinate with a decent amount of sugar.
