It was actually one senator and two members of the House of Representatives that are backing it.

Yes, ain't that the truth. Poles should do something out of their own country instead of acting like beggers and sluts in other countries. They go to UK or US and work as nannies or bartenders, then they complain. The UK is so sick of those Poles who either can't find a job and walk around drunk or take away jobs from the residents. Poles think there is a better life somewhere else instead of appreciating Poland, which is beautiful and full of history. When foreigners come to Poland, they get treated bad and are called names.
This would be very bad for the Polish economy if they got on the visa waiver program. Half of Poland would leave thinking money grows on trees in the US then complain about the US that it wasn't so. They only want to come here for money and jobs, but guess what? There aren't any jobs here. There are too many Poles sitting here illegally already, don't need more. They should stay in Poland and better their own country and learn to be more honest with one another.

Why do most people abandon their country? This is a question beside the point - a visa waiver program means you can come to visit without a visa (as in, come over, see the sights, go home). You'll still need a work visa to work, or a study visa to study. Even Canadians need a work visa to work in the US.

Why wouldn't we want people to come to visit the US? I'm all in favor of it. Although, to tell you the truth, one senator and 2 congressmen means there is zero support for that. And if they read this thread by some coincidence, my bet is two out of the three would change their mind, anyway.

If you want my opinion about USA as a country, not about government or policy, I have nothing to hide - I think that USA is a country of many opportunities, saying that, to have a real chance to success, one have to be citizen, specially it goes for Europeans.
We had a many discussion about visas, so there no point talking about that.

My wife is from Europe, she's years away from becoming a citizen of the USA and she's doing pretty damn good. Great job, great salary and benefits, drives a new car to work and back every day.....go figure, huh? And you know what, her company here in the USA is probably 1/3 european, all of them making great salaries, enjoying their lives like any other "citizen" does.

I have no personal incentive in Poland joining the WVP, I don't need visa to U.S.! It simply rattling me when Poland is helping U.S , her soldiers die, money needed elsewhere are spent on U.S. military missions, billions of dollars goes to U.S military complex, and then Czech Republic join the WVP - done exactly null, nothing comparing to Poland, or Lithuania when 2/3 of the population would undoubtedly end up in U.S.
How about military aid to Turks, which done a big f...you for U.S.!
Never mind all that, the most infuriating is your attitude, if you had said that is the way politics works, no friendships, you have to haggle about everything, if they can kick you it means they will, sorry that the reality !

And, because Poles can not cross the borders just like the Mexicans do, the only way to stop the illegal immigration is to deny visas. Poles have a long history of coming to America. No other communist block country had that privilege, ever. Unfortunately, it was abused and the results are obvious. So what that the other countries have visa free entry granted? Times changed, and there is not need for Czechs or Latvians to leave their countries now. Is there? Trust me, if they could do it 50 or 30 years ago - they would.
