This is addressed to N. Americans.... Many people from across Michigan as well as NY, state, Pennsylvania, Ohio, New England and elsewhere do not live in or near an old Polonian neighborhood or within close distance to a Polish deli, supermarket, bakery, butcher's,etc. Some make a twice annual 'pilgrimage' (usually Xmas & Easter), others once a month or even once a week to a source of Polish meats and baked goods. Some drive 50-100 miles to get there. Anyone on PF do this?

Our usual one is 3 km away. It has a decent deli counter, selection of sweets, bread, some baked goods, pickled things, PL products etc.

Then there is the "cadillac" Polski sklep, Starsky's about 8 km away. Longest deli counter you could imagine. Maybe too long, even.

I travel 15 miles to Gazzolo's Sausage Restaurant. The owner is Polish and her hubby is Italian. The restaurant's been there since the 1950's. Their kielbasa is home-made on the premises. It's absolutely mouth-watering :)

A sincere thanks PF, for putting up with me FIVE terrific years, muah!

Dear Beckski, Gazzolo's doesn't really sound Polish, I bet lots of Polish people pass it by never realizing they can stop by for some good polish kelbasa... :)
Anyway, my burb does not have a polish deli, but the three burbs surrounding my 'village' do, so just within about 5 miles away I have three deli's to choose from. Then, there is Chicago I can always visit if I feel like it and the plentiful choices of delis! Yeah!
