No. He's American.

Sounds like you've never been to the US/Canada. When someone says they are ___ (insert ethnic group), it doesn't mean they are ____. It simply means that they are making reference to their ancestry. It is VERY common. Tons of yanks and canucks of scottish heritage, for instance, walk around in kilts on scottish festivals/holidays, even though they are 3rd, 4th, 5th gen yanks/. edit

can we stop this continual argument of what is and what is not a pol/am. thank you.

Let us talk about what we want, relax and go grab a coffee. The brits on this forum are unable to grasp this simple concept so it needs to be addressed often.

Now, now, BBMan/GuessWho/Guess Who's 'father', you're getting off the point as usual which is whether or not Marilyn Manson considers himself (as the thead title says) a Polish-American musician.

I agree,
Pete is my favorite Polish -American too!
A little on the biased side but I can boast.
Cathy Ratajczyk- Peter Steeles sister.
Thanks for saying he's your choice

Hey Cathy, let me just express my deepest condolences for you and everyone else that was close with Pete. Type O Negative was one of the greatest bands of all time and Pete will always be remembered by his loyal fans.

Let's not forget legendary drummer and jazz great Gene Krupa (who grew up in my old neighborhood albeit many years before me).

Oh, shut the f_ck up already, and come up with some names! If you're here, then you're a glutton for punishment, at least an honorary Pole.

Well if you are going to be that way about it....

Polish (Jewish) Mother bore the front man of one of Canada's premier rock bands. Geddy Lee from Rush

Dang.. too bad I hate Rush. I tried to like them. I was them live, and fell asleep within first 15 minutes. And most of the high squeeling lead singers, like the Journey guy, grate on my nerves.

Another Polish American musician who grew up on the south side of Chicago is Ray Manzarek who was co-founder of the Doors featuring Jim Morrison. He was Mr. Keyboard.

Let's not forget the incredibly successful singer and songwriter Gene Pitney who had two dozen hit records.

The legendary Peter Cetera of the group Chicago,

Pete Cetera also grew up on the south side of Chicago but he grew up on the nice side of the tracks, unlike me.
By the way Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora is half Polish, half Italian in ancestry. I run into that combo frequently.

Now, how could anyone leave out Bobby Vinton? This was his 5th number 1 hit record.

It doesn't matter. The US Census defines any American citizen of Polish ancestry as a Polish-American.

Mr Vinton, "The Polish Prince" made some great melodies. My mom told me my dad didn't like Bobby Vinton; that is until she told him he's Polish-American, lol :)

A sincere thanks PF, for putting up with me FIVE terrific years, muah!
