This Saturday at the Prudential Center in Newark NJ, Polish fighter Tomasz Adamek will be fighting American superstar Boxer Michael Grant.

This is going to be a war.

Adamek is tough but Michael Grant has been one of the best American heavyweights for years. He is 6 foot 7, 250 pounds and built like tank.

Adamek comes in at about 6 foot 2, 217 pounds.

I think so too. Both have nice records of:
Grant 47-3 and Adamek 41-2, which is very impressive. Even though Grant wasn't much fighting the last 10 years and if fought was knocked out either in 1st or 7th rounds, still he, probably, has some suprises up his glove ;). This will be Grant's 2nd fight in 2 years, while for Adamek it is 7th. Physicallywise, Grant has height and reach advantage. If we take into consideration Grant's boxing ring slacking and his physique and add to Adamek's persistent ring life and great stamina, even though some bodily dimensions disadvantage, we might get the equation somewhere near "0", which means the fight will be great :)

Tomasz Adamek, “Goral“, from Poland has a current professional record of 41 wins (27 by way of knock out, KO) and 1 loss. He’s a former light heavyweight and cruiserweight world champion and he currently holds the IBF International and WBO NABO Heavyweight title belts. He just came off a Majority Decision win over Chris Arreola on Arreola vs Adamek, April 2010.

While Michael Grant, “Big”, from United States of America has a current professional record of 46 wins (34 by way of knock out, KO) and 3 losses. He just cam off a 1st Round Technical Knock Out win over Kevin Burnett, May 2010.

The Adamek vs Grant video will be a heavyweight division title match with Adamek’s IBF and WBO NABO belts at stake.

It should be a good one.

I predict Adamek will win by a close decision. But anything could happen. Grant is a great athlete himself.

I know one thing, despite who wins or loses, the Prudential Center in Newark NJ will be a big winner. There are a lot of Polish people in the Newark NJ/New York City Area and over half of the fans there at the Adamek fights are Polish Americans spending a lot of cash to see their man.

The bookies have it as follows. If they fought 16 times, they would give 15 of the 16 as wins for Adamek. Heavily stacked against Grant but he has a good chance. I just feel Adamek is too good and will take him out in round 6.

Grant's a bum, after being knocked out so many times a fighter's confidence is damaged permanently, he's hesitant to opening up and taking risks, doesn't wanna get embarrassed again. I think Adamek will win on points, he doesn't have the punching power to drop Grant, unless Grant don't fight back and he'll be able to land multiple combinations.

I agree that Adamek lacks KO punching power. However, he has been working on this and just needs to swing his body weight into it with momentum. He can do it!

He can do it! true, many people don't wanna believe how important legs are, if legs are well built you know how to position them correctly that adds much to ones punching power.

The problem is, he just doesn't look for it. There is simply NO comparison to Tyson in this respect. Tyson trained for getting in and about his opponent. Tyson was never the jabber that Lewis was, for example, but boy could he get through a guard like a hot knife through butter. Adamek could do this against poorer opponents but I wouldn't try it against sb from the top shelf (well, almost) like Grant. Better keeping Grant at a distance and wearing him down. If he drops his guard then all well and good but I wouldn't count on it. He may be ring rusty but his boxer instincts will still be there.

Easy! They come at you, you move away and throw a punch to keep them at bay. They get tired with the constant pursuit. Just watch the Arreola fight. I watched all 12 rounds today and you'll see what I mean.

I imagine Adamek will do exactly that - hit, move, then when he tires, go for the box office knockout that he needs in America.

I wonder if we might see Adamek fight Haye after this? Both of them are small for heavyweights, so it would be a fairly cracking fight.

Noises are being made that it is in the works for Dec. That would give Adamek enough time to prepare. I favour Haye in that one but Adamek would take a lot from that fight. Were he to take it the whole distance, he might win as he scores many technical points in his bouts.

Haye is not a boxer. He should go into politics. He has already appeared with heads of Klitschko brothers on his T-shirt, but when it came to back up your words, he pis*sed his pants and ran like a wuss he is.

Whether Adamek wins or loses this fight, one thing for sure is he will fight with the heart of a tiger in all rounds. I've never really seem him back off or just cruise through a round, no matter what was happening. He seemed to always have some tactic he was working.

In his last match with Arreola, which was with a bigger and stronger puncher, Adamek seemed to adjust to him and kept fighting from the outside while quickly coming in and out with a flurry of punches. You could see a fustrated Arreola saying to Adamek in the rink to "Stay still" and "stop doing that" or something along those lines.

If Grant shows a lot of heart through all the rounds, then there will be a war here.

But if Grant feels he's getting pounded more then he thought he would, he might have flash backs of the Lewis and Guinn fights and then collapse. Boxing is just as much mental as it is physical.

That was one of the worst fights i remember, they were both fighting like fags.

If they played more of the fight in slow motion you would be able to see more of the punches from each boxer knocking back the other guy's head back 8 inches. Adamek hits so fast that it seems like he's not hitting when he is.

It was a little boring as Grant tried nothing. The only time he showed anything of note was in the last round in desperation. I hate fighters that do that. He clearly had sth left in the tank so why not throw it down in the first few rounds?

That's a good point about Grant.

Granted (no pun intended lol) Grant and Adamek were both taking risks trying to knock each others block off at all times, but you would have thought Grant would have fought in the earlier rounds like he was in the last round. He should have let it all out earlier.

I thought he was a hot shot (before the fight) who would not let up but he threw lazy jabs and just looked disinterested. Adamek was picking points off of him left, right and centre.
