Where Polish in NJ live?

Can someone list where the polish generally live in NJ?

There's a large Polish population in Garfield and Wallington NJ. maybe some smaller communities in Union and Clifton. Not too sure about So. Jersey.

There are a couple of towns in northern NJ. Clifton, Passaic, Garfield, Linden and Roselle come immediately to mind.

In North Jersey - Wallington, Clifton, Passaic and Garfield are big. In fact, Garfield seems to still be growing. I lived there for years and still live nearby and there is a new Polish store opening all the time. There are also some good Polish restaurants and bars in these towns..

Polish mainly live in North Jersey around Newark/Jersey City Area. There is also a significant Polish population near Trenton. Also, South Jersey has a Polish population. A Polish church exists in Camden, although the city has seen better days, but many of the people of the church live in South Jersey elsewhere, mainly around Cherry Hill area.

Wallington- around 70% of residents are Polish.
Clifton===Linden are the main ones.

I know alot of polish people live in Lakewood, NJ. (Central NJ) It is a pretty crummy town (sorry lakewood) so the polish that are straight off the boat, so to say, live in that area. But when they earn enough to move out, they scatter around jackson, toms river.

My family settled in Camden, NJ. They use to call part of Camden, pollock town. Alot of polish families have sinced moved to other towns in South Jersey

Polish people live in Manville, Somerville & Hillsborough area, also Plainfield, Bound Brook. POlish churches are in Manville & bound Brook.

Polish Churches are in Passaic and Wallington. Polish priests are everywhere.

There are Polish communities scattered all over NJ.

Garfield, Clifton, Passiac, Wallington (in Northern Jersey) and Linden (in Northern Central Jersey) are probably the biggest. They have the most businesses that cater to Polish communities.

However, smaller communities exist in Bayonne, Jersey City, Newark, Kearney, Union, Rahway, Clark, Woodbridge, Sayreville, South River, Perth Amboy, Manville, Mercerville, Toms River, Cherry Hill, Trenton, and Camden.

They all have Polish businesses, including delis, shipping/ travel offices, attorneys, etc.

There are Polish Catholic churches in Garfield, Clifton, Passaic, Wallington, Linden, Bayonne, Jersey City, Sayreville, Perth Amboy, and Camden.

Clark has the Polish Cultural Foundation, which has a museum, auditorium, and school. They do many events every month and even have classes to learn Polish or English.

I am north jersey in Sussex COunty and i am polish and i have 4 polish friends in school. So all around they are. And my polish family settled in the Pine Island/Goshen area of NY which is about 30 mins from where i live. And up there, there are ALOT of Poles.

All my Polish relatives who are in the US except my father and a few others live in New Jersey. My dad was born in Montclair. If you are Polish New Jersey is the place to be!

There is a Polish community in Burlington, NJ. All Saints Parish is a beautiful Cathlic church. In Trenton there is a large Polish community. Targonski Polish Deli, Rozmaryn Restaurant, Kozik Polish Deli, Henry's Deli, Cosmo Market, Pulaski Meats, Blue Danube Restaurant, Saint Hedwigs Catholic church, Hamilton Market (large selection of Polish food products), Polonez Polish Restaurant, Larry's Corner Bar, Landmark Liquior (large selection of Polish beer, wine & liquor), European Bakery, etc. You get the idea.

New Jersey is the only state that is losing Polish people.
Poles are smart.
They know New Jersey sucks.

Oh they stopped recently?? Thank God.. I of course didn't mind them coming and making money and it wasn't all of them but some of them were giving Poles here a very bad opinion. I've heard from numerous people that some broke car windows and stole GPSs and radios, stole food from convenient stores. I've even had the embarrassing moment of going to a pizzeria sown the shore and saw the owner throw people out before they even got a chance come in. I gave the owner a look he goes" They're Polish" i said so what I Polish too, he explained the whole story of them stealing. It's us the ones who live here that later gonna get weird looks because of some idiots that come for the summer and act like that.

Well I did see the owner mad and the ones he threw out were laughing like they knew perfectly well what for. Plus I have a Polish friend who lives in Egg Harbor he told me the same thing, that the locals hate them for theft. A few bad apples is all it takes.

Yeah, but you can bet they're still not as bad as other minorities. They don't make the news. We never see them rioting or mugging or shooting people...

I only wonder how did he figure out they were Polish because from my experience (and I have a lot of it) 99.9% of Americans can not tell the difference between Polish and Czech,Ukrainian or Russian.

Not worth the hussle and it makes little or no sense financially.I am in Ocean City MD,Polish students used to coming here in large number few years ago along with Czechs,Slovaks,Hungarians and other students from former Soviet Union but it all stopped about 3 years ago.Now there are mainly Ukrainians,Belarussians,Russians and Turks but also some Irish (but they mainly party)coming here to work over the summer.I didn't meet any Polish student here over the last 2 years and in 2006 and 2007 I knew plenty.
