Hi, I am new to this forum and I am liking it so far. Both of my parents were born in Poland and moved to the USA around 1985. Therefore I was born in the us. I want to become a Polish citizen and I am aware if both of your parents are born in Poland, than then the child is already considered a polish citizen. Now what do I have to do to declare my Polish citizenship and obtain a Polish passport. What is the process and how long is the process? Dziekuje!!!!

That's fairly easy process. You just need to file an application with supporting documents and wait until its approved. Email me if you have more specific questions...

i'm in the same boat... its gonna be easier if your parents still have their old polish passports... even though they became us citizens, you can still do it...
believe me, its easier if they find their old passports...

You have Polish citizenship and you are eligible to get Polish passport. The process of getting a Polish passport is divided into two steps:

1: applying for a certificate about having Polish citizenship
2: applying for the Polish passport.

The first step must take place in Poland. To receive the certificate confirming your Polish citizenship you have to submit an application in a specific Voivodeship Office (Urzad Wojewodzki).
Once you get the certificate you will be able to apply for the Polish passport (Step 2). Yet applying for the Polish passport can only be done in the Polish embassy in the country you live permanently.

Hi there,
I have been trying to gather exactly what is needed for my Mother in Law to Confrim her citizenship so that she can regain it and then my husband and sons can apply for theirs.
Is there a list? I have gotten so many different answers that my head is spinning!
Thank you

So, you had called the Polish consulate and you didn't understand what they told you. Now, having failed to communicate with the experts on the matter, you have decided to contact the masses. I wouldn't do that, but that's just silly me.
