update.

http://www.polskieradio.pl/thenews/international/artykul117891_alcohol ism__not_tasers__killed_pole_in_canada_.html

The death of Robert Dziekanski at Vancouver airport was not caused by a taser gun but alcoholism, claims Taser International, the company which produced the ‘lethal weapon’.

"The man who used a digital camera to record the death of Robert Dziekanski at the Vancouver airport says he feels guilty he didn't try to help the Polish immigrant even though others honoured his actions Tuesday with a citizen-journalism award."

I wouldn;t trust the cops as far as I could throw them. Four cops, all over two hundred pounds and they couldn;t take down one man? ********. They are all taser happy, ever since these bully devices have come of age. And the cops? Well, they will get moved to desk duty or suspended with pay. The law is a joke. There is no justice. The criminals have all the rights.I'd feel safer with the Hells Angels anyday. When trouble comes, don;t call the heat. They will only make things worse.

One of those officers had recently been involved in a drunk driving collision causing death and failed the breathalyzer test, Monte Robinson. And to my knowledge this murderer yet again escaped the law. If someone has already posted this then I apologize for the repeat.

Shocking story really. He was stunned by their actions. Not too many got a buzz out of it. Were the police charged to? The case was zapped off to the courts.

1 person died, now try to think about the innocent Palestinian women and children that died from OCL.

what, an innocent man being killed by police for no good reason has a shelf life in terms of conversation?

Looks like they are being looked at again. The final commission gave them a tongue lashing, but no charges. Apparently, there may be purjury charges laid against them. Hope they rot in hell.

“It has been a long and painful ordeal over the last 3 1/2 years of delay and misinformation by the RCMP,” said Zofia Cisowski in a media statement, issued shortly after the B.C. Ministry of Attorney-General confirmed the four officers involved will be charged with perjury in relation to testimony they gave at the Braidwood inquiry into Mr. Dziekanski’s death."

I am a Polish Canadian and ever since this whole unfortunate disaster happened
I hate the RCMP and local police. They can go **** themselves.
"Serve and Protect" what a joke.

I just wanted to point out if they get punished it is something like:
You can no longer be an active policeman instead you will have a sitting job (which is pretty much a promotion). Another joke.

Typical overreaction.

How can you hate everyone based on the actions of a few?

THE RCMP and other cops in Canada and the United States
have consistently used too much power when it was unnecessary.
They are overpaid, do little to protect society, in many cases they actually make things worst,
etc. They are good for donut eating in their cruisers thats about it.

Another thing thats get to me is when 1 guy dies doing his job. 1000s of these suckers come to the funerals (through taxpayers money). Then all the news channels start spreading lies about what a hero he was and how much he did (which is a load of crap).

Constructions workers die often, electricians, other professions as well. I dont see huge gatherings for these people. And honestly I respect the jobs of these people more than some stinking cop.

That goes to show how much you know about law enforcement in general. A police officer makes very little money in the USA. A cop right out of the academy in NYC starts at aorund $34,000, $9,000 less than the national avg.

I'll tell you what, put your money where your mouth is. Would you be willing to make that announcement public for every police department in the USA to hear? Yeah, that's right. Tell all the police in the USA that they're all "stinking cops" and that they're only "good for eating donuts" if they're so completely useless. That way, when you call 911 because someone broke into your house and is snooping around, if someone is beating your friend/family member, if you have a big car accident and you need someone to sort it out, when you hear gunshots and you get scared..............they can all tell you, "sorry, we're only good at eating donuts. sort it out yourself."

An avg. of 150 law enforcement officers are killed every year. In 2007, it was 182. Don't tell me those guys don't deserve plenty of respect.

Tell you what, if the job paid very well and someone said they'd hire you right away, would you become a police officer? No? Too scared? That's what I thought. It's THAT very reason why they deserve the "big funerals" when they're killed in the line of duty.

Asking another poster a question, and then answering for them, within the same post, shows that you are a complete idiot without any sense of honor.

I was speaking mostly of Canadian police (if it was not understand than my fault).
Here they make first year 48,000 plus A LOT of benefits (here in Canada benefits are sometimes more important than cash). After 3+ years its 78,000. If they gain some experience they can make 6 digit numbers.

The crime rates here in Canada are also lower than the States. Toronto has the lowest crime rates from the major cities in North America.

When people state that the police is here to protect me I laugh because they have never helped me and in fact made my life difficult several times. They are morons who use strength over brain (this case is perfect example).

Also when people say the cops put their lifes on the line. Thats good for them its part of their job.
Additionally there are many professions which are more difficult and have higher injury + death rates than the cops.

That is true, but when a police officer dies, he dies while trying to help someone or save someone else's life. That's the difference. Also, what difference does it make? Does it make what they do any less honorable?

google Erik Czapnik and see what comes up. His wife is a good friend of my husbands.

"Czapnik, an immigrant from Poland whose father had also been a police officer, was a well-liked member of the force".

What the Polish community should do is track down the murderers of their countryman and - like some 'agencies' we have heard of - execute Judgment upon them...and make it publick. Well, the news would make it publick too. :)

The RCMP should be called Repulsive Criminal Murderous Pukes or 'Satan's Choice'. They are nothing more than a tax-funded GANG. trustchristorgotohell.org

We are in a system that is increasingly a police state. We have traded our freedom for the promise of security. North Korea is fairly secure, no terrorists, low crime...

Robert Dzienkanski was a terrible mistake by a bunch of gung ho a-holes. However, what has come from it is that Poles no longer need a tourist visa to enter Canada.

absolutely. if you do your homework you will see that the rcmp tried to brush the whole thing under the table. they were at fault and everybody new it. And luckily somebody had it recorded. I think in order to appease the Polish community in Canada and Polish government, Canada offered an olive branch by making the tourist visa unnecessary.

I am not taking away fault from his death. I am just saying that the Canadian gov't tried to keep the peace with Poland so they did that---and not specifically because of his death. I think the gov't would have done it anyway but the situation sped up the process.
