Oh I get it.....So he's a martyr.

So who died for Hungary, Slovakia and Lithuania which got their free visas at the same day as Poland? I bet pip has some thoughts on that as well ...

why is it so hard to believe that the Canadian gov't would do something like this. Yes, the visa for Poles was on it's way out- his death sped up the process. I don't think it is outrageous.
Why do Poles still need a visa to get to the U.S? It is not necessary for Americans to have a visa in Poland, Poles helped in Iraq, there are loads of American businesses here and of course all of the Poles that live in the U.S that still travel and maintain connections to Poland. Poles can travel freely in most parts of the world, yet not in the U.S.--why is that. And Canada usually follow the states but not on this. Why?

It is not the reason but his death made it easier- the rcmp were in the wrong and everybody knows it.

all of you are simplifying what I wrote. just to recap. I said that the death of Dzienkanski sped up the process. I never said that because of his death- that Poles no longer required visa. seriously, as if. perhaps a little reading comprehension is in order. I said that, once again, it sped up the process - not as a result of.

Robert Dzienkanski was a terrible mistake by a bunch of gung ho a-holes. However, what has come from it is that Poles no longer need a tourist visa to enter Canada.

Backpedaling much?

And patronizing on top of it. Niiiice.

pip:

Trying distraction technique right now? You are so cute when you are clueless.

I am not backpedalling at all. you have quoted me as writing "and what has come from this is" - in no way is that saying because of.

patronizing- whatever. you are the one twisting my words around. "what has come from this is" not the same as "because of" simple reading comprehension. take it however you want.

no distraction technique whatsoever, however- you seem to be trying to make something up that doesn't even exist. the fact is Poles still need a visa to enter the u.s.--why is that.

they don't need one to enter canada. why is that.

I stand by what I said. The Canadian gov't sped up the process to nul the required tourist visa for Poles because of the Robert Dzienkanski situation. It was going to happen but they sped up the process. twist it however you want. sometimes people know things and they can't explain why- privacy is a big deal in my world.

oh awesome. another "why do poles need a visa to go to the USA" discussion.

"Poles helped in Iraq" has got to be my favorite. How that should have any relation to the USA's immigration policies is beyond me.

"There are loads of American buisnesses here" is also a good one. Careful what you wish for. If we pulled all those companies out, I highly doubt you'd like the result. I'll let you explain to the umpteen thousands of Poles why they just lost their job. Oh, and I'll let you write that letter to the Polish government as well.

simply making a comparison- no need to attack. the u.s. basically does whatever it wants to- I for one find it curious why Canada has not followed the U.S. on this one.

I am not turning this into a thread about the visa in u.s., just making a comparison.

I am assuming you are the decisions maker at these companies,so please pull them out!Plenty of Americans is without work and even more work for peanuts.
