I think those officers should be stripped of their jobs. When i saw this video I was disgusted and brought to tears. Just because police help maintain the law doesn't mean that they are above the law. I hope this burns in their conscience for the rest of their lives. This further builds my negative view on police officers in the U.S. and Canada. Last but not least, f*ck the police :)

If all Poles are like you puzzler, no wonder you think there is racism. People probably treat you with no respect everyday. I can tell you right now it's not because you're Polish.

The answer to that question is NO. Not all Poles are like Puzzler

It's not something that exist only in Puzzler's mind. Racism and prejudice against Poles really does exist.

I live in Canada, and i totally support puzzler. I hate this god damn country and i hate the people in it. I hate america and canada, and this whole stupid fat continent. the average IQ of the people i meet here is that of a watermelon with a pistol, and the hatred towards foreigners is immense.

By the way i am a university student studying business, and every polish person around here is completely afraid of being themeselves and of their antionality. i have been in fights because of this racism, and i seriously hate this place. i HATE it.

regards

lol, i bet its puzzler using a different name
AngryCanadian  Nov 15, 07, 23:06    #68
The RCMP officials who tazered that poor polish man SHOULD be tazered themselves! They MURDERED an innocent immigrant...in an AIRPORT!!! Is this what we're paying them for...? Those who are supposedly sworn to Serve and PROTECT...? This definitely makes me question those supposedly "protecting" us... This isn't a game of life or death...it's REALITY! What were they thinking...? And if you see the video...for all those IGNORANT people who were video taping the whole incident as well as the security guard who kept requesting a RUSSIAN translator...HE WAS POLISH DAMMIT!!! NOT RUSSIAN!!! And I loved how all those people who sat around and watched that poor man endure that traumatic experience added to psychological statistics of those who can watch an innocent person die...and not do a thing!
PolishWings  Nov 15, 07, 23:08    #69
i have been TAUGHT in school that Polish people are stupid, and i have been TAUGHT we attacked tanks with swords, that we surrendered after a week of fightin, the amount of polish jokes ive heard is ridiculous. ive had my car painted "fuckin pollacks" on the front, over an eadgle sticker, and everyone refers to me as the Polish kid.....i cannot stand it here, and if any of you canadian poles are offended by this, i dont care, im getting out of here.

It is too bad that Mr. Dziekankis's first day in Canada had to end in tragedy. However, it is very clear from the video that the police had to act in the way that they did. There can be no question that he was acting in a violent manner, that he was intoxicated, and that he had in his right hand a large metal stapler that he threatened to throw at the police (this is not speculation, these are the FACTS). After being wrestled to the ground, he continued to struggle and had to be controlled by the four officers in the manner that they did. His death LIKELY occurred as a result of exited delirium and not directly from the taser. Observers of the video need to step back and stop making knee jerk reactions. What is truely tragic is that these 4 members of the RCMP will have to undergo the scrutiny of people like our friend the PUZZLER (THAT guy is off the deep end).

SHAME ON YOU CANADA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PolishWings  Nov 15, 07, 23:31    #72
warsaw, you have to be kidding me. the guy put his HANDS up as if to surrender, after like, 30 hours of travel. he was not violent at all! all he did was place a chair in between him and them. then they tasered him, twice, jammed a knee into his neck, and killed him. its as simplea s that. and the RCMP...are those the same friends that mock my fathers accent whenever we come into contact with them or arrest people for speaking their mind? or that shot an 18 year old execution style in the back of the head for drinking a beer? (look it up, his name is Ian Bush)

I love polish people and some of my best friends are polish.
If somebody says to you that "Puzzler" is a f.u.c.k.i.n.g idiot
that doesn't mean they are talking about the country of your origin.
NO, they are just simply stating a fact that you are a "F.U.C.K.I.N.G IGNORANT
IDIOT PUZZLER"

you're on this forum ... to spread your lies and racism around?
it is obvious that you are a racist otherwise why would you say,
canada is good for arabs and third world people. You think you're
superior to other people including the third world. that's racist.

you seem to be a fan of iranians, well s.h.i.t. head for your information
I was born and grown up in iran. Iran is just like canada. it's a
multi ethnicity country. full of persians, arabs, kurds, lure, sistaniees,
turkish, afghans, russians and so on. And just like me there are
many mixed races in Iran. Never, in my life I ever run into an iranian
saying the b.u.l.l.s.h.i.t you are spreading about arabs.

why don't you face it Puzzler, even Poland doesn't want to have anything
to do with you.
baajuu  Nov 16, 07, 01:11    #74
Holy crap puzzler... listen to yourself. You sound more racist than anyone I have met in my 31 years in Canada. Racist against US, UK, China, Taiwan, Korea, Czechs, and now Canada. Stay in Poland then. WE Canadains dont like racists.

Those officers were stupid to say the least, but not racist.
AngryCanuck  Nov 16, 07, 01:17    #75
I have to agree. Pretty sad when it takes 4 BIG rcmp officers and a taser to bring one average size unarmed person down. Its quite apparent that the 4 officers safety is not compromised here. How much more black and white can it be? Let alone the taser and when they sit on the guy which ultimately kills him. This video is extremely disturbing. Nice to see the people who are suppose to serve and uphold our laws killing people with EXCESSIVE FORCE and not making any attempt/effort to resolve this situation in a peaceful manner. I hope these rcmp officers are disciplined and are held criminally responsible for their actions. Maybe they should have excessive force used on them for punishment. My thoughts go out to this mans family.

- Well, racists nowadays, and especially Canadian racists, tend to accuse of racism those whom they torment. It's such a rhetorical trick of the racist and hypocrite today. My comments on Canada and Canadians are well-deserved, based entirely on personal experience. We Polish people are patient and by nature really positive towards the world, but enough is enough. Hate for hate. I haven't revealed even one hundreth of what I had to go through while living in that bloody dump. I'll be telling it now loud and clear.

- Well-put, pal, although perhaps you interpret your slogan differently (chauvinistically) than I do. Would you allow me to enhance your slogan a bit? Thank you in advance.

Come to Canada, the arse of the world! It's a racist killer and hypocrite!

- Another racist and hypocrite, and nationalist chauvinist (Canadians are nationalistic chauvinists), using the rhetorical trick of throwing back the ball, i.e. accusing of racism those whom he is racist towards?

Hey, lying creep, can you prove I'm being 'racist' against UK?
PS. Are you the character that calls itself dumplop, or something of this sort, earlier in the thread, and says he's an Arab Canadian? Using cowardly another nick? :)

- Oh, it's not just the RCMPEE 'offisiers' that exaggerated a bit. For instance, I cannot imagine e.g. a Chinese or any other Asiatic visitor being treated in such a manner by your 'offisiers.' This points to Polonophobic racism of the cops. Where would they take it from? Perhaps from the wider social attitude? So don't pretend here there's no nasty unacknowledged Polonophobia in Canada (fanned, as anywhere, by the media psychopaths) - don't try to defend your country's nonexistent 'honour' by lying. Acknowledge Canadian racism against the Poles, if you have any guts, any honour, any decency left.

A compulsive liar and brownoser, and hypocrite, accusing of racism those he is racist towards.

Yes, it is clear from the video that they thought he was speaking russian.

If they locked you up on the air port for 10 hours and you wouldn't be able to get any help from anybody, I suspect that you would probably get frustrated and irritated, wouldn't you?

these are the FACTS

So, you claim to know all the facts. Were you even there?

I believe that Canadians , Polish and all others have plenty good people and some shameful dirt in human skin like Zeze. I hope that new borders will unite us in dignity and separate us from the human trash until that trash can be transformed into something useful. (can it be ? ever?) A man has died, for no reason, no cause. That responsibility falls on the society . It will be interesting to see if this society is run by people with dignity or those that need a transformation.
waytogo8790  Nov 16, 07, 03:55    #87
Sad? This could be criminal, illegal, outrageous, horrible, unreal, shameful, sickening, inhumane, tragic, whatever..take your pick and add some more adjectives those of you with advanced degrees, spellings skills and the will to call things their names BUT....that's NOT sad. Sad is when a child trips over and loses ice-cream...not killing a person at an international airport for throwing a chair, slamming a laptop and WALKING AWAY from approaching police officers having been left without assistance for hours. From what I've heard he was coming to Canada to join his mother to live there as a newly arrived immigrant. Way to go Canada!

Sixteen Canadians have died in the past 4½ years after being tasered, according to Vancouver lawyer Cameron Ward.

I'd like to know why this guy was held at the airport for so long.

Also, the police had plenty of time to check his flight details. This would have given them a clue to his county of departure and the language he was speaking.

Were there no other Polish people on that flight or at the airport who could have helped him out ?

Robert's problems started long before his 24 second encounter with the police. Without knowing details....I would say that that the first people to answer questions would be the Immigration Service. Or did this happen before he reached them ?
