I need to say something here. I was a limousine and tour bus driver in Vancouver in the past 5 years and I know that area Mr Dziekanski was in very well. The opening glass doors are the the doors to the waiting area that the general public wait for passengers. The area where Mr Dziekanski was subdued is an area for tour bus groups & cruise ship passengers to organise for bus transfers, passengers meeting their drivers for limousine service, private bus service to Whistler/Victoria and the check in counter for international travelers with connecting flights to places in Canada. To be in that area, us drivers need to have an IRL (International Reception Lounge) pass. There were many times, when my passengers did not arrive to the IRL area, and I had to go to Immigration, or even the airlines to find out if they were on their flights. It is easy to do, and it is a shame that Mrs Dziekanski could not get the help she needed. There are plenty of security cameras in that area. I found it interesting that on the day of events, the cameras were not working as claimed by YVR. Mr Dziekanski had been cleared by all Customs and Immigration officials and was free to go. Of the many 100's of time I had been in the IRL, there was always security in that area. They monitored IRL passes and stopped passengers from going through a previous set of doors going to the baggage claim. there was a complete failure of security/customer service measures in YVR that night and someone had to pay with his life because of it.

but on the other hand, you are absoulately wrong in your assesement of Mr. Dziekanski going "beserk." He was already calming down before the RCMP reached him. He had not threated anyone around him. I hope you never have to travel for 40 hours, be stuck in one ******* area for 8 of those hours, and not be helped. Maybe then you'd react similarily. I know I have been close to the boiling point, and I fly a lot.

Ebi i am frustrated at the bad behavior of people these days. it gets worse all the time. In Canada it has now become a regular occurance to bury our Mounties. For that i get very passionate! I admit i am always pro police especially when we speak of the RCMP. I have a deep respect for the profession. If citizens feel strongly against tasers then they must inform their Legislators.

It's absolutley disgusting the way they treat immigrants here. Almost, and if not almost, every single day my boyfriend has to deal with people treating him terribly, making jokes about him, purley because hes Polish. Immigrants here are regarded as the lowest form of existance, and looked upon as though they're not human. Those pigs deserve to be killed, or at least jailed for life. I'm ashamed to live here and can't wait to get to Europe away from this stupid fcking mentality. It's based on ignorance and convienence; it's very convienent to blame the immigrant families for the problems in society, they come from another country so they MUST be terrorists, or just in general bad people. In my city we have alot of Mexican refugees coming, because the americans(not implying america and canada differ in any way) have now resulted to taking pot shots at the Mexicans trying to cross in Texas. We're not too far away from doing that at our borders now, and it wouldn't suprise me if they start tomorrow. North america is a continent built solely upon hatred, and is overflowing with people who cannot admit their faults. This continent is full of the most ignorant, careless people who have no idea what other people must go through before they come to this piece of sit country. I want to see these cops pay for what they did with their own blood. Fck canada, fck america, f*ck everything they think they stand for, they'll keep waving their flags honouring the acts of people, if you can call them people, exactly like those cops. Theres also the ones who will take it as far as to say that Robert's death can be justified and that he was posing a threat to people around him. Well, this may raise awareness of police brutality, but sadly it won't stop it. Robert's death will not be forgotten and hopefully will serve as a reminder to people here what this country stands for.

Immediately upon meeting the cops Richard starts trying to explain what's bothering him and the cop just barks the order for Richard to drop to the floor (in ENGLISH), Richard does not obey and the cop TAZERS him. Richard was clearly not violent just extremely tired and frustrated. When he threw the chair he threw it at the floor out of frustration not out of malice and he certainly was not a danger to any person. I don't think the cops deliberately tried to kill him. Some men need to prove how masculine they are by subduing and humiliating others when they don't realize that the outcome could be death. This whole thing is a shame.

I am wondering if perhaps your verbal behavior(incidently I am responding) which is so uncommon of most poles that I have met and know, has anything to do with rejection, perhaps a Canadian man or woman hurt your ego, (it's difficult to tell you hiding behind a sytonm) or sexually rejected by one or the other or both. Which may explain your unreasonable outbursts at Canadians make that North Americans.
