Since President Komorowski comes to Chicago, in May, and I don't live far from there, is there any chance that I can get to meet him, for free, without having to buy a high price ticket to one of his events, since I don't have much money, and would love to meet him, since I respect him very much?

I too would love to meet him.
I too respect him. He's doing an admirable job (in my humble opinion).

The most important thing that he's doing is restoring the Presidency to where it should be - a respected position.

No harm in writing to his office and asking - a sincere letter might go a long way.

a sincere letter to a sulf-indulgent guy Mr Komorowski is will not help you a lot

if you haven't noticed Mr Komorowski did not attend Vaclav Havel's funeral and for a reason

Ok, I'll bite. What was the reason (I thought he was away doing the people's business).

he was doing nothing really important - and they also invented some stories that he went ill - was back in shape the next day or the day after the next

Quite honestly, it's irrelevant - President Walesa was the Polish representative, and I think anyone with an ounce of common sense can see that Walesa was far more appropriate than Komorowski.

If you're a citizen, contact the embassy. If not, find a citizen who can blag an invite and take you as their guest. One problem is that if every Polish citizen in Illinois were invited to meet him, they'd need a vast hall.

Good advice.

Exactly. I quite like Wałęsa though towards the end of his term of office I remember him becoming somewhat intemperate. Kwach was good too, but the public drinking did him and Poland no favours. Kaczor was an international joke and a disgrace. In many way President Komorowski is the first Polish leader since 1989 to be decent and dignified.
Out of interest, I've been invited to meet his wife at a Polish embassy do next week. Should be jolly.

I actually made an effort and typed it up for you, but for a person who admires the President you make no effort to make the effort.

Americans can appreciate Komorowski - next to him, Bush seems very bright person.

My favourite story about out beloved chief, is how he explained to NATO generals how to make bigos (his famous speech at NATO summit).
this guy is remotely controlled retard.
'Our Forrest Gump" is indeed good nickname.

Komorowski

A far better president than any of his predecessors, with the possible exception of Kwasniewski.

Still eating those sour grapes? I thought you'd finally run out of them...

JonnyM:

I'd say that on the world stage, Kwasniewski was better - but on the whole, Komorowski has been stable, uncontroversial and willing to stand against the Government when it makes sense, such as when he threw out the bill on GMO crops on the grounds of being junk. Exactly as a President is supposed to do - no-one wants the President to start fights (that's the Government's job) or indeed behave like he has any competencies beyond largely symbolic ones.

I still think he should've delivered bags of sour grapes to many villages, though.
