What should I bring back from the U.S. to Poland?

What are the everyday things that are more expensive in Poland or just unavailable? When I am in Warsaw I think of many things I wish I had from the U.S. but now that I am here I am drawing a blank. Any ideas?

WarsawNoob: Any ideas? Anything and everything you can fit in your luggage. Poland still needs time to catch up to the US in terms of shopping/products. I always bring clothing with me because polish clothing is expensive as hell and of p.iss poor quality.

hate to break it to you man but there are very few americans on this board to advise you which is quite obvious considering all you've gotten so far is cheesy slap-stick humor and ridiculous suggestions.

if you want my advice, save as much money as you can while you're in poland and do all your clothes shopping in the USA. selection, quality and prices are WAY better in the USA. I've been here 4 years now and always wait till I am visiting home to do my shopping. as far as clothing, i can't really give you specific suggestions because it would be better to just say "all clothing".

food is always a big one as well. Bisquick pancake mix and syrup is always on my list, although heavy i always take back a few cans of soda, rice, nature valley bars, BBQ sauce, ziploc bags, Listerine, mac and cheese, just to name a few.

I'd say that advice is good for living in any European country, not just Poland. When it was $2 to 1 pound, New York was rammed full of Brits!

I've never seen Ziplocs in Warsaw stores, and I've looked for them.

Bring back a bottle of cheap aspirin if you take it, they're 8zl for 10 tabs here, 6zl for 200 tabs in the states. Grape jelly if you miss it, I can't find that here either. Cheddar cheese is something I always bring back, the Irish cheddar available here just isn't the same (and is priced around the equivalent of $9/lb). I've also never been able to find Rice Krispies here in Wawa. You can find most things at Kuchnia Swiata, but they don't have much selection, so if you're into BBQ sauce bring some of that back too. And ditto on the clothing... especially jeans. Levis are a lot cheaper in the states.

Ralph Lauren T shirts, jackets, trousers, LaCoste T shirts, loads of pairs of Nike trainers (sneakers US), Levis jeans. I hate the trainers in Poland - absolutely hate them That's what i generally buy in the US. With regard to the UK, Bisto gravy powder, decent T Bags, Walls pork sausages, Branstons pickle..

Here's what I bought...

Couple of books, specialty stuff on aviation
Clothes
rifle scope (my self bought Christmas present)
couple of boxes of honey nut cheerios
headset for the plane
new bulb for the projector
as much beer as I can stuff in my luggage
no fog stick-on plastic mirror for the shower (kinky perversions and shaving in the shower!)
some local "secret" dry rub and dried peppers
various bags of candy that people have gotten addicted to over the years

Yes, yes...yes! Especially freezer bags. I'll be stocking up. They've got bisquick at Kuchnia Swiat some times. I picked up a box a while back, didn't get around to using it though :(

something else: contact lense solution. in the USA, a 16 oz. bottle (473ml) runs around $8, or 24zl. In Poland, it's double.

also, cooking spray. I got tired of cooking everything in butter and oil and feeling my arteries clogging with every forkfull, now i use Berkley & Jensen cooking spray, virtually zero calories, works like a charm, no sticking to the pan. one large can lasts for months and months.

There's a new Butterfinger that is lighter with crispy wafers inside. It doesn't get stuck in the molars as much as the original. Try to take some of those. You can find them at some Wal Mart super centers though not all :)
