You forgot the baby boomers. Now they were some miserable people. What right do they have throwing you young punks out into the world to fend for your selves? For shame on them.

Baby boomers have created the whole thing for which we have to clean up. AIG isn't my generation dad. I've got a feeling you're one of them hence your brilliant analysis. Hey nice couple of posts ago blaming Jimmy Carter for things. He hasn't been in office for like oh 30 years? Not sure he's sent jobs to China or sat in on this credit crisis. Interesting viewpoint.

Hey Dummy. Your parents were Baby Boomers, apparently they did a good job. They managed to get rid of you. Grow up, get a job, and help to pay for my upcoming SS retirement.

Are the drug wars still raging in the borderlands?
I haven't been watching the news......I'd hoped things had settled down some.

They are still going, not so much on the Texas side but in Jaurez, TJ, etc. Here they just have kidnappings of persons involved with the trade; and their "little" gang wars.
There was a case of a 4 year old kidnapped two weeks ago and was found in Mexico last weekend, everyone is thinking the parents were involved in the drugs trade.
Also 50 prisoners broke out of a Mexican prison 30 of which were cartel members. Funny thing was the guards that were supposed to be watching them, helped them escape.

Got a joke for you. Nasa is struggling to put a coon on the moon by June. In time Ya'll shall overcome.

I could care less as to how much SS I get. I already milked the system. I retired at the age of 39. I have a business with other losers like you to support my life style.

HAVE A NICE DAY. I will. Spending the day on the Gulf Of Mexico, fishing with my other retirees.. HO HUM sometime life can be so boring.

Yup, let's steer it back. Texas, what's it worth to Americans from across the States? There, try that :) Later man

Seanus, I have spent time in Texas, And it is one hell of a nice place. They have all types of cultures living there. Like I said in another post,America is a melting pot. Our Southern states are not what some of these idiots describe as red necks.. Racist exist in all of the states. I have property In Maryland, West Virginia, and Florida.
My choice is West Virginia, they only have 1% minorities living there, But I live in Florida during the winter months. WV is a little too cold for me in the winter. America has it all. It is a shame that we have cry babies like Scrapple to complain. We are a land of opportunity.
I only have an 8th grade education, but I was a good mechanic, and built up a automotive machine shop. It has been very lucrative.
I turned it over to my son in law, and I oversee it. The opportunities are here.

If you are living in US be like an American and in USA 'U' stands for United... so don't take up such nonexistent issues here.

Texas has the right to leave if it wants. And if it wants to, then so be it. America is democratic after all.

Wow! Such a hate filled individual! What happened to create so much hate and discontent? It appears that your post is neither accurate (save Kennedy and Bush), pertinent, nor remotely relevant. Here are some facts for you to ponder:

1.)In 2008, Texas had a gross state product of $1.245 trillion,[2] the second highest in the U.S

2.)Texas has the highest number of Fortune 500 company headquarters in the United States, fifty-eight.

3.)Port of Houston was 6th among the top sea ports in the world in terms of total cargo volume

4.)Air Cargo World rated Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport as "the best air cargo airport in the world"

5.)Texas is a productive agricultural state with the most farms both in number and acreage in the United States.

6.)American Airlines, headquartered in Fort Worth, is the second largest airline in the United States by number of passengers carried domestically per year; the largest, Southwest Airlines, is based in Dallas.

7.)Texas is a leader in alternative energy sources, producing the most wind power of any state

8.)The Texas Medical Center, located in southwest Houston, is the largest medical center in the world.

As far as the murder of Kennedy, his assassin was a Marine, so do you hate Marines? Bush senior lives in Maine, so do hate Maine as well? Lincoln was murdered in DC, which was once part of Maryland so is safe to assume you also have issues with people from Maryland? Guilt by association is a flawed argument from inception-get your facts straight and try again.

I could continue on, but what would be the point. You either understand how important Texas is to the US economy, and understand that Texas could survive as an independent nation, or you do not. Or, quite possibly, you would rather just bash a place you have no knowledge of.

Texas has the right to leave if it wants.

Not really that's just legend, Texas seceded from the Union once, before the Civil War began on March 4, 1861 the same day as Lincolns inauguration. After the war Texas was let back into the Union with a modified state Constitution pretty much based on the original. They pointed to a line of the Texas Constitution of 1876, declaring that, “The people have at all times the inalienable right to alter their government in such manner as they might think proper.”
A Supreme Court ( Texas vs. White) ruling later came in 1869 with a 5-3 vote and commentary from Chief Justice Chase saying that the Union is “composed of indestructible states,” and established on behalf of the high court of the land that secession is illegal.
However, Texas can break up into 5 separate territories, but cannot seceded.

Yes it's an important state but it didn't get that way on it's own. There's been a lot of investment in Texas from the US. You'd like to break away be our guest but you better cough up the dough we put into your "new country". That includes hurricane / tornado disaster relief funds and all the welfare people in Houston have collected.

$1.245 trillion

so then why dont texas help the rest of the united states get the economic problem
solved ? or is that where bush has created a haven for all the greedy private sectors
who didnt lose their homes.. but still got bonuses while all the rest of the
people wondered where the fek their money went..

or wait, I have a better Idea, how about texas stand up to the plate since
they are doing so well and pay off the national debt since one of their biggest
consumers lives there and consumed all of our money while he was in office!!

In four months he spent more money to achieve nothing that all the past Presidents combined. You young punks will have to pay for your adulation to him. I already milked the system. I can afford to sit back sipping on my MINT JULIP, watching you young PUNKS pay for my high living.

LONDON (Reuters) - The dollar fell to a 2009 low on Friday as fears intensified that the United States could lose its triple-A rating, while renewed caution about the world economy and banks prompted Asian and European stocks to slip.

Yeah, it seems that way, Ironside. Still, Obama may yet do sth which proves he is willing to make a noticeable difference. He can keep Texas under control for the meantime.

I am sorry I didn't quite understand - what is your point my friend? Texas is one of the essential parts of US, compare it like any organ to human body....
don't get trapped into divisive concepts...

it's just the paint dude - the structure is stronger as ever...we repaint with blue(democrat) or red (republican) every 4 years...
