And here we are, secretly plotting... Just try it, he says! lol

The truth is that the U.S needs Texas and... vice versa. Regardless we're all Americans, there is no need to fight about this.

Anyway, below is the list of some of the companies with headquarters in Texas. Plenty of jobs here...

- NASA,
- Dow chemical
- Alcatel-Lucent
- American Airlines
- AT&T
- Continental Airlines
- Dell Computer
- ExxonMobil
- Motorola Company
- GameStop
- Halliburton
- Hewlett-Packard Company
- J.C. Penney
- Men's Wearhouse
- Nortel Networks
- Southwest Airlines
- SYSCO
- Texas Dow Credit Union
- Texas Instruments

I wouldn't think it is possible. The time for secession belong to the past.

Yes, but would these companies be headquartered in Texas if it was a separate country??

I think not. Texas needs the US more than the US needs Texas. Texas is not mainstream, it's on the fringe. If Texas ever seceded it would eventually be absorbed by Mexico culturally and socially. It would become an empty shell.

i know you post in jest but there is more truth to that sign than a lot of people realize. that's why if Texas would threaten to secede I'd say adios!!

They're not worth the trouble.

Right now there's a big fight going on between big corn (ethanol) and big oil (texas). The Texas elite is allied with the Saudi's...and they love Mexican peons to clean up after them.

If texas seceded, the texas border would become international. The texas elite would gouge themselves on cheap mexican labor. The middle class whites and english speaking blacks would leave and texas would go from texas to texican. I'd love to see that happen.

What does Texas have to lose? It's not subsidized by the federal government. Industry and infrastructure is already in place. It would become a member of NAFTA. The state guard is more than enough to defend the place, and gives a military that is larger than that of Poland. The US government can lease their bases back from Texas.

Texas has one of the best, if not, the best economies in the US.
And Texas can secede if it wanted to ;)

Convex everything is subsidized by the Federal Government. What are our troops doing in Iraq and Afghanistan? Fighting for Freedom or fighting for Middle East Oil? We've spent what a trillion dollars out there so far, development costs for ethanol are $2/gallon. A trillion would've got us 600 billion gallons, we use 140 billion a year and nobody would've died. The point being the entire oil industry is subsidized by the Feds. So is the defense industry. So is the entire Chinese manufacturing industry, and the Indian Service industry and the illegal alien industry. It's all about Fed policy and Fed money. Why do you think everybody is p'od in the US? And you know how we got here? Look at PGTX's sign. The Texas elite had a lot to do with it, they wanna protect their oil industry, in the meantime we (the rest of the US) slowly go bankrupt.

The Tea Party won't be funny to you when they boot you off of welfare and make you go to work for the first time in your life.

Great reply from a citizen of the most politically corrupt state in the union. I would have expected nothing less.
