How to get Drivers license in IL without social security?

If your talking about going the Illinois Secertary of State bring bond money to bail yourself out of jail Its called fraud and they probably will charge you with perjury also. If youre not legal they might hold you for the INS and deport you...have fun:)

Can't you get a license if you have a green card or a visa? Had a friend in high school was a exchange student and she got a license in texas and she was german.

I knew a person who got some kind of International License based on his polish driver license, but at least he already had one. Some travel agency took care of it. I'm not sure how legal that was and all, but he had a car and drove.

Go to DMV. They will tell you. The answer is NO. You need your SSi number and proof of residency and valid visa or green card.

International license do work, it all depends where you live though. and only works for certain countries

urszula: You need your SSi number and proof of residency and valid visa or green card. i am guessing that SS# isn't actually mandatory as a foreigner wouldn't have one but one would surely need a current visa etc.

When you do things illegally you ruin chances for others who deserve. Can't say you don't deserve, but try to do things the right way. We don't want to ask a few yrs from now why PL is still not in the VWP.

just go to the secretary of state office and put in any 11 digit #. no one will check it, as a matter of fact i believe it's illegal for them to check it. same way like when you apply for a job.

how is that the problem of legal americans? ILLEGAL means just that. those who hold that status shouldn't be here... it's that simple.. if you want to be here and have all the same advantages a resident has, you better fill out the correct paperwork otherwise i see no point in letting them stay here. i am all for deportation.

I think you have no idea what is going on in the US. IMMIGRANTS built this country, not ILLEGALS! You break the law, you face the consequences. I think they should deport every illegal ass back to where they came from. We dont need any more people bringing down wages, not paying taxes, getting free healthcare.

Yes there is a way! If you came hear on a visit lest just stayed, you could go to this school it's called goal training school one in Skokie and one in Chicago on Irving park, you join, pay and you will receive paper work that will allow you to get a permit and then a temporary Driver License good for about 2-3 years this Driver license is for International Students.

Its breaking the law and should be punished just like any other crime, jail time first then deportation.
Maybe then they would think twice about it if they sat behind bars for a year before they get deported?
