You forget that Yule has Pagan origins as well and they sure like to shop!

So when we shop, we pretend it is Yule we are celebrating so it's okay ;)

Actually those people don't have the right to own firearms. If you fail a background check you aren't allowed to own any and can be arrested if you are caught with a gun and have a felony in your record.
People do not use the second amendment to defend criminals. It's the law abiding citizens who are defended in it

So why does every discussion about gun crime in America end up a discussion about the right to bear arms in the Constitution...? It happened here. Unfortunately it does cause situations to escalate when there is a firearm in possession, which is made much easier when most citizens have the right to bear firearms...

Very difficult to know when a law abiding citizen will become a law breaker... situations change.

That's true. However, the majority of criminals are repeat offenders so they are easy to screen out. However, they do buy guns illegally. There are plenty of guns all over America so it isn't that difficult. That is why we need lots of security here. The right to own guns comes with responsibility.

I think those crimes were perpetrated by animals who no longer feared getting a bullet in the arse... :p

I never saw crime rates escalate immediately following the gun grab... but it was a reaction to a massacre that took place in 1996. It resulted in a ban on semi-automatic rifles, semi-automatic and pump-action shotguns, as well as tighter licensing laws.

Many farmers possess guns at any rate and while small and not very powerful, it's enough to put a thirsty or diseased cow out of its misery...

There aren't many guns in the city though and not a lot of gun crime.

In order to diminish gun violence you have to stop manufacturing guns. Then you have to confiscate the guns in the general population. Then you have to keep guns from being smuggled in. If you accomplish all these, you could see an overall reduction.

Now you're talking like a grabber!

I would never let some irrational gun-fearing Libs tell me how I couldn't defend myself or my loved ones.

You are so silly! Do you honestly think all that would be possible? How you gonna keep people from smuggling guns...look at all the other stuff that gets smuggled. It would be impossible. When you got people smuggling guns you might as well keep guns legal.

So you're a wannabee grabber! That's like a lobbyist thinking about how to get lobbyist laws repealed... Or a Commie thinking how to repeal free speech... Or a pedo perv thinking what it would take to get pedo laws struck... :s
