no i'm not Polish i'm English :). So i had no registration to do. You are in the EU and can move freely to the UK if you so wish.

you will need to register for a national insurance number, which may cost you a small fee. Otherwise there is not much else you have to do.

Can UK subcontractors, if they are self employed, offer services throughout Europe.

You would probably have to register... for tax purposes.

If I were to employ two guys from the UK for a set period of time to work in Poland would they have to be registered in Poland for tax purposes if they were already running a business in the UK. It seems to me that they could just invoice me through the UK company as long as they remain resident in the UK.

johan123,

I'm not qualified to answer. You might be better off starting a new thread on this and waiting a few days for a detailed answer from someone who knows.

Thanks Wroclaw, it seems like an excellent idea because if it were poss I could save a forture in ZUS and Tax payments

You could ask them to become self employed.. Then they would be responsible.. But you'd have to be sure the wage was sufficient to offset the taxes they would pay.

But surely within the EU there is no reason to do that because essentially we have freedom of movement for goods and services. Setting a business in Poland needs residency and a whole host of complicated ZUS and Tax registration procedures, which it seems could be avoided by invoicing the UK company.

Probably not. If your business is 'legit', ZUS is tax deductable and tax should be mostly costs.

Yes, but there are many considerations and it may not be the easiest, or best option.

If you need more info, PM me, I can get very boring about this issue.
