Problems with Gadu-Gadu Settings

I'm having a problem... When I click on any of my contacts, the SMS windows pops up. I only want to chat with my friends o_O I'm currently using Pidgin, but I'm disappointed because I can not send/receive files and smilies. When I add a friend on Pidgin(GG protocol) , I have to add the number once again to the real GG, Pidgin won't do.

Maybe I need to fix the settings or I'm just a gummyhead :(

I might be guessing, but check under Gadu Gadu right under ja (number)on the screen.
Go under "ustawienia".
On the left side find: wysylanie SMS" click on it and see if you have that part filled out.
It shouldn't pop out by itself unless it is set to do so.

wysylanie SMS is completely empty.. :/

Maybe when you click on the SMS on the main screen and go under "lista" are there any names there?

There is nothing in there. Plus, at the main screen next to "Pozostale" it says 0/5.

I believe 0/5 means 0 are online. right? :/ if thats the case something is wrong cause they are online everyday lol

the sms window pops-up only when you, yourself wave a status "Niedostępny". Change it and you should be able to chat. The status button is in the bottom left corner of the gg window

I changed it and it asked me to register then i clicked "nie" and the "Ustawienia" poped up. Do I need to add my current number to "Twoje konto"?

I added my # to "Twoje konto" and saved the password.. then I changed my status!!! :D

I'm usually on my laptop, it has Vista Ultimate.. *Screen shot*
My desktop computer has Windows XP.. but I put the Vista theme on it :D

I want to have *no sound* when friends send me messages. It's quite annoying Lol
Also, I want to send the text once I press *Enter* cause clicking at *Wyslij* each time, is driving me nuts!! Ps. Why when I click on *Polaczenia* > Transfer plikow, GG closes :/ I was just exploring hehe

It must be the easiest thing in world for you, since you speak Polish. For me it was quite hard (: As I said before, i couldn't change the status, it wouldn't let me. I needed to go to the settings and set things up, just like I said in my 7th post. You've done a pretty good job at being sarcastic. First award winner! Congratukurwalations! :D

1. Display timestamp on arriving messages
2. Always on top (that's kinky :)
3. Pop-up notifications
4. Display the beginning of the message in the notification
5. Show incoming messages on taskbar
6. Status description below the contact list
7. Allow multiple instances
8. Start with the contact list expanded
9. Do not show information about the contact in the main window
10. Delete the conversation content on closing conversation window
11. Warn me before opening a link from the message

Disable during a conversation with a sender

Background of the window (actually it's the "inner part/inside of the window", so I'm not 100% sure it's the backgraound they mean, I don't gg)

Enable receiving of files and audio connections

I tried not too but i have different peoples log in's set on my pc ie me .. my daughter then guest .. all with different settings attached .. considering getting the vista thingy if much cop :D

I've had Vista for a long while and it hasn't given me any problem so far :) If you have less than 2GB(RAM) I don't suggest you getting it... :/

I get randoms messaging me all time on GG actually sometimes its spam sometimes its someone messaging me out the blue i usually chat back and if chat a while i usually ask if its okay to add them to my contacts ..

yes, indeed, I had been using GG for a year or so, but discontinued about 2 years ago, then last summer some old acquintance of mine he tried to contact me at my number and it already belonged to some guy from Germany :)
