Profile of a polish person in London

I need to build a profile of a polish person in London - how does an every day life look. Please could you help?

I think it looks more or less like that:

Morning - Get up to work
Noon - 30 min. for lunch (home-made sandwich)
Afternoon - Still working
Evening - Going to another job to work
Midnight - Coming back from work, have some heavy meal, and go to bed.

On Sunday - a couple of hours of talk over the phone to friends/family in Poland. Then rest (sleep, read some Polish newspapers, Internet, TV). In the evening a beer or two with a Polish peer.

Monday - back to work...

I disagree to accept that all Poles live this way. I met many who often have take-aways for lunch, who work normal hours, have one job, eat healthy stuff morning and evening, especially salads ect. There are also people who don't drink unless partying on the weekend, who integrate with the locals and stay away from other Poles.

Polish people usually buy certain Polish products (bread, ham, beer), some rarely, some more frequently. Often they live with other Poles what makes communication at home easier but learning English harder.

There is some truth in what Bolo wrote, however any kind of generalisation would be a mistake.

I think "bolo's" description is about right (but this is not only true for Poland - some British people are more or less the same).

That is not what my life looks like

I work monday to friday 8.30-17.00 with one hour lunch break( I eat home made stuff, or buy a sandwich, and every friday we all go to pub for a meal)


I train Martial arts and do that two evenings a week and we usually have some additional courses on saturdays. Friday/ saturday evening we go out to pubs/clubs/cinemas etc

I also study in college so the rest of my free time is spent on doing homwork.

oh and every now and then ( if there is any money left from shopping;-) we go with my boyfriends for weekend trips)

I do buy both polish and britsh food, and i do eat out every now and then.

My life is not that much diffreant than in Poland( well, it is more relaxed money wise but i do have a sociable life just as i had in PL ) It is not all about money for everyone

Im sorry but this is a ridiculous thread.. in my humble opinion. Do you really want to know what life is like in the UK for Poles because you are thinking about moving here? If so, then better to ask for individual experiences, rather than stereotype everyone as living the same life. My partner is Polish and we dont have Polish TV and he doesnt spend his whole life obsessed with work.

And many British people, especially in the South East have a life dominated by work and a lousy life style. Getting paid more money doesn't male it better, worse if anything because more is expected. Some companies expect you to be available 24-7.

Shame on you Peter, you mean to say that you are not picking up your emails at 9pm at home after travelling from one side of the country to the other for a meeting???

Wake up 12 pm, sit dazed infront of lunchtime news drinking coffee and smoking ciggy.
12.30 phone me to complain there's no food left. sit down smoke ciggy.
1pm have bath.
1.30 pm start getting dressed.
2.30 pm finish getting dressed, phone me and complain she has no clothes, smoke ciggy.
2.35 pm change outfit.
2.50 pm leave house head for shops, smoking ciggy.
3.30 pm phone me tell me of nice leather jacket she's just put on credit card.
4.15 pm arrive home, smoke ciggy, drink coffee
4.35 pm phone me complains of feeling tired and not wanting to go to work.smoke ciggy
4.55 pm leave for work.smoking ciggy.
5 pm arrive a work, at end of our road.
5pm till 12 am work. finish smoke ciggy, drink glass of wine.
12.10 am arrive home. smoke ciggy, drink mint tead. complain of being hungry. eat cheese and bread. complain of head ache.
12.20 till 2 am watch T.V
2.05/3.05 am go to sleep.

since she does eat anything, her bathroom visits are minimal. thanks for the observation.

what does she want to have a profile of how many times a Pole uses the bathroom a day. hmmm very in depth...

Actually it sounds like the title of a thread on this site. e.g

Do Polish people use the bathroom more in the Uk, is mass immigration causing our sewers to flood. And can the Uk cope with all the ****.

I work at home and never go to meeting. I do basically work all waking hours but seems to spend far too much time surfing.

Unfortunately WFH is limited for me and its probably a good thing since I spend too much time on the net when I do

I don't think there is a typical profile of a Polish person in London.

It really depends on whether they are in work, out of work, on benefits, homeless or something else. It also depends on whether they are a recent migrant or whether they have lived in London for years, man, woman, kids, no kids etc. I think a more accurate study would be of a group of Poles, unless you are seeking a specific profile.

exactly correct....thats the poibt you cannot draw a simple profile.
