przed podlaczeniem..... to English ASAP

I need help translating a statement on my wiring diagram. It is in Polish and I need to know what it says in English. I am in a bind and really need any help somebody can provide.

Before you connect the engine check the connection system.

Maybe it is just a technical word for the plug!

literally:
I have hope, but it's stupid of me to have it [hope]

in other words:
I remain hopeful even though it's silly of me
or
I remain hopeful though I should know better

etc.
