Prices of homes depend on location (I'm sure). Living in the neighbourhood of crocodiles is riskier, but less expensive I guess..

Too many questions at once. It will take lef a while to answer them, so why don't you listen to bolo here. He's got an answer for everything.

How long is a piece of string?

The social security system is a safeguard if your sick or unemployed, but for a person with skills and young it is the country of the future.
The reason why people come to oz is to enjoy the freedom and hassle free lifestyle, good climate and a good lifestyle..oz people enjoy sports and don't talk about politics or religion like in poland..
Basic wage min...is about 32,000$A minus tax
average wage is about 52000$A minus tax per year..
Skilled workers like electricians carpenters have it good.. nurses are sought after..doctors can print there own mony!
Homes in price from state to state...city and country prices.. in Melbourne average price is about $350000A
In Tasmania homes are about $250000A average.(obviously you can pay more or pay less depends on the location)
Tasmania incidently is the best place ond earth...has everything, fresh air/mountains/beaches etc...check it out on google)
Food and beer is pretty cheap, like I say I've thought about living in poland but I think I would be giving up too much in leaving oz..
Think about this oz has no land neighbours, poland has germany and russia, yuk, say no more.

In moving to a new country it is always hard at the start till you settle down and have a job, afterwards you love it.

I am planing on visiting Australia in the near future. My mother and sister visited New Zealand and they really liked it. How does one become a citizen? How long is the waiting period? And they do drive on the wrong side of the street, right?

Poles drive on the wrong side of the road...
You can get permanent entry if you have skills from day one..however access for un employment benefits and citizenship is 2 yrs....you can access family benefits immediately (ie if you have children)

I make this point... if you don't enjoy a easy going lifestyle (thats why polish indian girl didn't like oz) don't think about coming over...mmmm

I agree with most of Lef's point regarding living in Oz, but 'Tasmania being the best state??? It does have the best scenery and is a great place but it's very cold in winter and much cooler than mainland Oz. Every state is different from the next and personally I would rate Western Australia as being the most livable state here. Give Sydney a miss as it's overcrowded and overated!

Perth city in Western Australia is the best place for employment... Its really nice too. I live on the other side of Australia though.
