Are you looking for a relationship?

What are your thoughts about us?

Do you think we could have a future?

I am not looking for an adventure, what do you want?

surely the way to to develop a relationship is by asking questions, maybe not all the ones above but communication is one of the key elements of relationship building, isn't it??

sure, normal thing, but questions aren't the basic thing, you can't show your girl *ample?* list of questions on first date, sometimes the answer appears without asking, and this is the most sensitive way :)

i understand what you mean about too many questions, a lot of dates i've been on and especially first ones, questions are the main course of the evening, thats including the film or meal or whatever it is you do on a first date.

So as a date Panienka am i supposed to sit there in silence, hoping you will come up with all the answers?? are you going to read my mind???? :):):):):)):) if i'm on a date with you i want to find out about you not sit there and just eat, whats the point of having you there otherwise, i'd be paying for a meal for two people and interacting with myself, lol :):):)

If a guy didn't ask me any questions I would take it as a bad sign that he's not interested. It would be the same if I were talking to a guy and not asking him any questions. I can see what you mean though, not to bombard someone with questions because that can be annoying too!

yeah i know that Pani, however surely surely surely, at the start of a relationship or even before hand, there need to be questions asked, to find out about each other. The questions would be 50/50 you and me asking one question leading to another or making the person who isn't speaking think of something to ask.

A balanced relationship is correct, however does that mean silence, sometimes there is a place for no chit chat but you certainly aint talking about what i mean by silcence. I just could not imagine sitting there with long silences between me and my partner/date, ok so there is not a need to be talking all the time but just because there is a lot of talk dosen't mean its not balanced does it??

we just gone out and got drunk on the first date, no serious conversations - perfect lol. i never asked or have been asked these things, in my opinion it's off putting, all the questions... makes you feel like they are going to judge you and put ticks on their little list they probably have in their pocket. you are meant to have fun when you date, then you will both know if you want to take it any further WITHOUT having to ask this sort of questions. if you dont enjoy each others company, there is no point asking them what they are looking for. they might be looking for someone, they might be looking for a relationship, but NOT WITH YOU lol. i always chat about random things, definitely not about work or family - boring stuff.

who said anything about judging, i wouldn't judge you on the basis of one date, night out, question or anything, as i said to justysia i wasn't talking about the questions above, i meant just normal questions :)

A lot of questions at the beginning of dating is something more and more common now. People do think they have less time to find the right one, and they seem to think that eliminating those not having the right answer to their every question will bring them closer to the ideal, one and only, forever and ever, etc. :)
And there will be lots of people arguing vehemently in favour of asking lots of questions.
I do agree this brings dating much closer to sales.. you need to be able to fit 'yourself' in these answers somehow.. and the other side doesn't get to know the person, just attitudes and opinions, that tend to change. :)

On the other hand, if at some point in life I was asking the right questions (the fundamental ones) from the very beginning, I'd be now 7 years younger.. :P

As to being silent or talkative in a relationship, this is obviously a totally different subject. Both are ok, it's up to people that live together that have to match.

i think your right, people generally feel more rushed in their lives and sometimes maybe this can spill over into their, dates and love life.

as for questions i'm happy to answer anything, dosen't really bother me. she can fire away as far as i'm concerned.

yes and thats the thing - it all comes naturally, you dont feel like you're being interrogated or wasting someones time... you dont sit there in a very uncomfortable atmosphere being asked questions about your life, your work, your attitude to relationships with the other person constantly looking at their watch (probably the next date is waiting already lol). i love these first few months of dating, when you are about to fall in love, and still pursuing each other. shame it often wears off after time, the whole excitement of it :P.
