I don't blame them at all. I'll be moving to New Zealand once I receive my qualifications in the plumbing industry.

The people waiting patiently in line have not arrived for the start of a sale but are Brits desperate for a ticket OUT of the country they were once proud to call home.

It's the Sun who reports this...I always suspect some sense of spectacularity when the Sun reports something. So I don't know...

Well they haven't mentioned how many people actually return to the UK after a year of working abroad or travelling.

Many people are leaving the UK. An increasing amount of people are moving abroad, most popular is Spain. But I only fancy moving to New Zealand once I get my qualifications.

How do I temporarily turn my hot water off so I can fit a tap to some of the pipework? There seems to be nowhere to turn it off between the kitchen sink and the boiler (which is a nice, shiny, white combi boiler, seeing as you ask).

It was fitted by a man who is now living in Australia. I wouldn't go to Australia - all those dangerous animals out there worry me a bit, especially those koalas - I bet they're a bit dangerous when they're cross.

Britain can't be as broken as my kitchen. But by the end of this long weekend, my kitchen will be better than Britain has ever been or ever will be.

People wanting to travel the world is a different thing from Britain being broken Grounded. There are many factors which could determine their decision to travel. I travelled to many countries but didn't, at any time, see Britain as 'broken'. I just saw it as broadening my horizons and I have no regrets.

And thats probably still the same reason why people want to travel and it is easier these days than it was 20 or 10 years ago hence more people travelling. The sun however doesnt appeal to me as a newspaper that would take that into consideration. Anything for a story hu?

Almost everyone of my friends whether their irish, scottish, english or german have returned to their home country after travelling

I think it also depends on the work exp that u picked up whilst travelling. This can have a large bearing on ur career. I returned to Scotland but only to do my teaching qual

With your attitude you are in for a nasty shock once you arrive in NZ.Crime,anti-social behavior, family breakdown & non-white people are as common over there as here.

Esp around Auckland. My friend says he is lucky to be where he is. He is in one of the few areas around Auckland that is safe. I'm not sure which is more ferocious, a Maori who feels violated or a Govan woman in a rage, LOL

Which one has more tattoos? Which one does a tribal dance and chanting before the attack?

I'll take a look for myself. I won't buy property in New Zealand without first going there on holiday to check the place out. If it's as you say it is I will find that out for myself and I will look to another country but I've heard many decent things of New Zealand and I've heard alot of British expats say that to emigrate to New Zealand was the best decision they had ever made.

Petrol is around a third cheaper than it is in the UK. It is easy to pick up a good quality second hand car cheaply as New Zealand has plenty of imported cars from Japan which keep the prices down. European cars tend to be more expensive.

The info is on that site I posted

I drive and I LOVE cars so this is good news for me...

It is relatively easy to eat out cheaply and takeaways such as fish and chips or pizza tend to be a lot cheaper than their UK counterparts. However, convenience food at supermarkets tends to be considerably more expensive than in the UK.

Most supermarkets cater for UK immigrants providing a few of their favourite food items in the international foods aisle.

The difference between the UK and New Zealand is that the price of living in the UK is rising every 6 months. A car could cost £180 to tax and a 4X4 upto £1000 a year. Petrol soaring upto £1.08 a litre. Food price is rising. Price of houses are rising. Price of alcohol set to soar to about £6 a pint in London by 2010 statistical graphs show. There is no sign of an increased wage packed yet more tax.

You know what you should do? Get into a college course. Get a career if you haven't already. Get your qualifications and move abroad. Spain is an ok place. Britain is "rip-off." Something like hairdressing. Own your own company. Even beauty therapy. Only the fat cats will be able to afford life in Britain. The government's version of an ideal British citizen is for someone to go to work then go to bed, not having fun. Not using electricity. Not driving. Bring on the general elections!

I do partly agree with you on this but.....nations with lower taxes have fewer services and facilities and you will find plenty of Kiwis struggling with low incomes and high bills.I will wait for the election because having lived in other countries and despite its faults Britain really is head & shoulders above other nations in so many ways.

What people need is a more social climate. You know, there shouldn't be such a huge difference between working class, middle class and upper class really..

Let's face it, they all need eachother to make a strong society. So instead of bleeding the working class dry, I think the solution would be to give working class back their jobs at a normal wage..

Slightly more expensive workers? Maybe. But, atleast the money will come back to the stores. Now, if you hire slightly cheaper foreign workers, they'll be cheaper alright, but they save up in most cases, and spend their money in their own country..

So, what really is more desirable and more profitable? Marketing tactics or social politics? Next thing, what do you think what will happen to middle class when less and less people are spending or buying?

1+1 = 2 and 1-1 =0..

I don't have to study economy to come to this conclusion, because the results of such politics are child's play to predict really. And no, I do not live in the UK but it seems to be a general EU problem and so it does concern me a great deal..

I have a mate who cant wait to get back to NZ because she hates the UK I have another friend who cant wait to finish her finance exams so she can leave the UK because she thinks it's a sh!t hole and millions of British are leaving because they are of the same opinion, its expensive to live here, it's crime ridden and the weather is sh!te...to name but 3...

Like Truebrit, Im going reserve judgement about England until after the election see if they actually do something positive
