I'm sure there were plenty of those. The issue though is the definition of plenty. To some 2 is plenty and two too many. To others "plenty" carries a connotation of majority. That of course was not the case in Poland. As it was not the case in Hungary where about 1/2 million Jews were sacrificed to save only 1000 rich and influential Jews. Is then 1000 out of 500,000 plenty?

Put this into perspective. People of every country occupied in the war carried out acts to save their and their families lives. Self preservation is a stong instinct. We all like to think that we would act in a noble and righteous way. Pray that we never have to find out how we would react.

If the future mirrors the past then we all end up being ourselves forever.

To awake as a child on a new day with the expectation of something never yet seen nor yet expected to see the raidiance in that childs eyes, we must forget the past and move to this future ourselves.

Good point and I came its iteration (but don't remember the source):

history teaches us that history teaches us nothing.

Even the teachers learned from their own pupils that is how they could understand the meaning of teaching and learning. For if none of us grows and follows even the example of the lowly mushroom living in the wood first without the light and then becoming such a sweet delight. We cannot lift our hearts to fulness to the flavour of true goodness.

fisz stay in Poland I see you are all ignorant jew haters

If you can read my previous post, you'll see that I'm in the NY area. I was raised in an all Jewish town and have Jewish family members. You don't know me. You're the one who's a fake. Why don't you bow your head in shame and go away now?

ok U so you are not a nazi good for you. I just hate antisemetic people thats all.

As a younger generation of Poles, we do not have problems with Jews or other nationalities. We did not live through the war and had not have negative contacts with the Jews.
It is the older generations who still remember the hardships of war and how people were seperated according to race. Nowadays we could care less if someone's Jewish or not.
It is the Jews that bring forth their attention.

A lot of Polish people are racist. The good news is that racism of the kind which is more unpleasant than just being stared at gets more and more common as the towns get more and more unpleasant in general. For example, Slupsk has a serious problem with racism (as I know from personal experience) but the town is such a ******** that you wouldn't want to go anywhere near it anyway!
