Racist attack against Poles via Polish language

Under the following internet address: claritaslux.com/blog/2007/04/22/the-hardest-language-to-lea rn I found the following - should I call it article - by a type using the nick 'markbiernat.' He claims he's an American who speaks Polish and loves the language too! Wow, if it's love, then you don't need the word 'hate', do you?

Among the comments, some of them as stupid and nasty as the 'article,' I found the following one:

What is he meant to shock anyone by this (if it is him)... You go to any country and if you can understand the language, you will find it is bastardised in some way. Even in the UK, some people from the south will have troubles understanding northern people speaking and I am not talking about dialect here. :O)

Some years ago, I watched a television programme from Newcastle where they were interviewing young Geordies from Newcastle and even with my well trained ear to understand the English Language it was almost like trying to understand another language like Dutch but simply through the English Language. And no, I have never heard of Michalpl, I am not even Polish at all.

puzzler,chill baby chill. Most of my Polish mates said the same to me,"dont worry about getting all the grammer right as most of us dont" ,are they being rascist(or your buzzword,polonophobic) ? I think they are just being polite and trying to make people learning a new and difficult language feel a bit better about themselves,hardly a crim is it?

I agree with puzzler people stop making fun of the Polish people and language.
the Polish language is the most beautiful language in the world I am learning Polish hope to speak it well. too all who make fun of Poles do not bother going on this forum, they are good people.all Poles are welcome to Las Vegas.

I agree ..Polish is difficult to learn , but before anyone jumps down my throat , thats not an attack on Poland or its people...Polish is a very beautifull and colorfull language , and if i am to have a life here , then its something i have to do....I have to say tho , that some of my closest friends here are people that i can,t have a conversation with , but we are friends just the same....Sometimes what is in your heart can be comunicated without words......

To be honest though, it is a waste of time as it is a minority language and is already in the throws of dying out now. The levels of emigration are so high that Poland is now devoid of a youth culture and no society can survive for very long. I was in Radom some time ago, and I was told how quiet the streets are now, even on a Saturday-literally everyone who could had left the country and I very much doubt if any will return. One reason why I would not live there, after all, if millions are leaving each year, giving up jobs running building firms ect. to work in a hospital as a cleaner for £5 per hour and offered a roof over their heads, there must be something seriously wrong with the place!

In YOUR opinion it's a waste of time. So what if she want's to learn. I want to as well....we all have our own reasons for wanting to do things Mike.

This sentence doesnt make sense. If you were in Poland 'sometime ago' i.e. 20 years, how can you know the streets are quiet 'now'.

Yes, I understand that and it is a challenge but on the other hand, it is not worth wasting huge amounts of time and energy on something which will pay out zero dividends.

I mean, you've said previously that you havent been in Poland for 20 years (approx), so you can see why what you say could be misunderstood? However I'm sure theres a perfectly simple explanation that would clear this up.

This is still your opinion. It pays in different ways for different people. for ex. it would make my GF and her family happy and that would make my situation better...that's one way of paying off. Who says you need to learn it for making money.
