Hi I'm Rafa
I'd like to learn a little Polish as I've met a good Polish girl and would like to be able to speak a little of her language.
I'm English with very liitle Polish and need all the help I can get. I have a lot of problems with pronunciation as the polish alphabet is as you know completely different to English.
That's my story. Happy to be along and hopeful of some honest assistance.

Hei Rafa, welcome here, enjoy the forum and good luck with the language ;)

Not that different, apart from some letters with diacritics, it's the Latin alphabet :)

Hi Rafa and welcome to PF :)

(Where does Rafa come from? :)

There's no denying, Polish is a devil of a language to learn...but worth it indeed. It requires some dedication. Previously I thought I could learn it in bits but it seems then that I would forget more than I would learn...that's not good :|

So Good Luck with learning it and the kind folks here will no doubt help you out if they can :) Enjoy! :)

Thanks Polson. Fair enough the alphabet looks the same but it confuses me when there's ctsz and other consonant combinations. It's the pronunciation that gets me but I guess I'll learn. I managed to get an understanding of the Greek Alphabet (not the language yet) so why not Polish.

Rafa is from Rafael.
I have been following Polish Forums for a while and agree that you seem like a nice kind bunch on the whole.
Any advice on where to start building a basic Polish vocabulary

What about the Dutch "slechtstschrijvend" ? Nice consonant combination, isn't it ? ;)

rafaben:
Thanks Polson

You're welcome Rafa.
