jkn005:
I hear Szczecin is nice right about now

I've been there, it's a very nice city, and pretty close to the sea :)

scottie1113:
there's usually a wind but I like that. I also like rain

Scottie...if you're from Scotland, you must be used to wind and rain, right ? ^^

scottie1113:
Snow? Not much last winter

Because of the sea...winters are not that cold...
I'd love to see the icy Baltic sea (wow see-(i)cy-sea, i could make a song...) but it doesn't happen very often...

scottie1113:
And the Old Town is the prettiest in Poland

I asked my parents a dozen times to go to Gdańsk, i'd love to visit the Old Town. I'll go there someday ;)

Już, frustrated ?...hmm, sorry, wrong thread ^^

Ok i can try to continue the song :

I'd love to see the icy Baltic sea
But it's not meant to be for me
Clouds reflect something i can't be
So i'm running away, as far as i can flee

Hum...well, maybe i should just drown ;P

Cool :) This summer i'll go to Gliwice, then Warsaw and finally Mrzeżyno (20 km from Kołobrzeg), so we'll probably drive not far from Gdansk. 3 years ago, i went to Malbork, and almost entered Gdansk on the way back home (hotel...) :)

I'm not from Scotland. I'm from Southern California where the climate's just a tad different from Gdansk but I love it here and wouldn't live anywhere else in Poland.

I've just written the definitive Baltic sea-shanty:

Volvo yeah yeah yeah in the Baltic yeah yeah yeah
Saab Saab Saab yeah, all on the baltic sea bed.
Volkswagen, Audi, Mercedes, they all pay the price.
But there's a Maluch, a Maluch, a Maluch on the ice
Of the Baltic, the Baltic, the Baltic, yeah yeah baby!
I got a Maluch on the Baltic and I'm sailing, sailing, baby!

God Bless Poland and their holidays. 4 days of free time now, I wish I'd booked a jaunt away somewhere. Still, 2 Zubr's and 2 Tyskie's later, I can dream.

Sail or power? I've been sailing and racing all my long life. Maybe I can help. If it's power, it's a lot easier. You just have to learn how to handle the throttle(s) and learn how to leave and return to the dock. It's not as easy as it seems.
