My wife and I are buying an apartment in Kraków. We would like to buy the apartment in US Dollars. Does anyone know who would provide a mortgage for an apartment in Krakow in US dollars?

2-3 years ago that would be about half of the banks... now only a few, I think PKO BP, BOŚ, Multi and maybe some else... but If you don't live and work in Poland they will demand many different documents, so make sure what they want before you travel to Poland...

Many thanks Grzegorz and Marek,

Sorry for writing back so late. Anyway, I find that the mortgage agents--those that work for you to secure the loan to be rather mysterious/vague to information about the loan process. We have to loan officers and both seem to be ok but when I ask specific questions the answers are always too vague for me.

Quite frankly - the vast majority of the English speaking ones in Poland are nothing but pond life. If they're vauge and mysterious, walk away - they thrive on misinformation and false promises, and the vast majority of them are attached to a particular bank.
