Better still, find another flat, don't pay him and tell him that you are going to go to the Tax Authorities to see what they have to say about this. .

I agree with Terri, you should say that you're going to report them to the Tax Authorities and see what they have to say about this. You can always seek for help, you don't have to agree upon such ridiculous electricity prices that landlord wants you to pay.

If he's as much a git as the poster suggests, I'd suspect he'd have plenty to say and really not a good idea. Threatening th etax office is something to do after he leaves should the landlord become difficult,

Depends who is more prone to violence? I pinned a landlord to the wall in Kato who suggested he was keeping some of my deposit and "persuaded" him that it wasn't such a good idea.
