Yes Iceland comes from Icelandic Ísland which means "land of ice", but it doesn't mean that it's -40°C every day of the year there ;) I think their climate benefit from the Gulf Stream (like Scotland and Norway for example), so it's not that cold there...it's sometimes warmer than in Poland ;)
PS : Greenland is called this way because the first Europeans who reached it first saw its summer green coast (the rest of the land is made of ice)... That's all for now ^^
