Admin, thanks for taking most of my recommendations/suggestions on board, no need to thank me or make special mention of my foresight or generosity of thought.

I look forward to the"new" board, Frank

I don't think it will be going in the right direction Frank, this is a discussion forum, where you speak your mind, it seems now we will have to just agree with each other, hmmm what a great result!!!! We can thank the Irish for this one.

Quite the opposite - we welcome all kinds of opinions (even extreme) as long as they are ON THE SUBJECT of the thread. :)

Very often off-topic discussions turn out to be very interesting ones, so I would opt for not deleting them, but rather moving them to a more appropriate place or, if needed, creating a new thread.

Again, off-topics are off topics and we don't strictly inforce the rules there so they won't be deleted...

As to inviting old members to become moderators, dont you think that they
would have a biased or personal venetta against the members they dont like?

For example this summer if I post some pics from Taste of Polonia
and so called moderator doesnt like me, they can just erase what I post?

Why would I waste my time even posting at all, it would be like being Blackballed.

I think a moderator should not be a previous disgruntled member.

Just my opinion, youre thoughts other members and Admin?????

I think maybe Matty is referring to threads that went off topic (not necessarily in the Off Topic Lounge) but still made for interesting reading.

My personal opinion is that you shouldn't have to bother deleting any posts....just start fresh from here on out and censor future posts that don't follow the thread.

Then we always try to move the messages that are off-original topic and create a new topic. But if there are more than two topics discussed in one thread, it's almost impossible to do so.

I understand. Still I think that it would be a good idea to move some off-topic discussions to places where they belong more. I mean it's weird to read about religion in thread dedicated to Norman Davies. It would certainly be helpful. Just my 2 grosz’s worth.

Oh, and you better sort that out Admin or I'm going to leave! Just kidding.

Why not. Moderators should intervene only if the rules of polishforums.com are being violated. If a moderator would have taken advantage of his rights Admin could always make him an ordinary user. Simple.

We'll talk about it later. For sure we won't have a moderator who takes action based on his/her personal preferences...

what about actual posters?

why isnt there a policy that you have to sign up and get a username like other boards?

it seems most of the comments that are offensive seem to be from those that are just guests and post under a temporary guest name.

i am member of a board in australia and you cant even say the word retard without being banned from the forum for, as an example, 2 weeks.
